Recently our team had the privilege to meet up with Dr Dave Smith, National Technology Advisor for the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) UK, together with the representatives from the Department of Business and Trade (DBT) UK and CSA Catapult. It was an incredible opportunity to discuss and explore how technology & innovation can enhance industry development, create high-income jobs, and drive economic growth. We exchanged insights on the future of tech policy and collaboration between parties and we look forward to seeing how these conversations translate into action. #SMDSemiconductor #IntelligenceWithin #CSACatapult #DBT #DSIT #UK

Today I had the pleasure to meet with one of our long-term collaborators, MP Aura Salla. Thank you for the good points you raised about the importance of seeing the European talent gap in a more holistic way! Coders are of course important, but also the whole society must support acquiring and keeping talents - and their families. I would like to add also the importance of building competences for developing and applying technologies in new emerging fields of research and business, to increase the impact of research, to transform business models and to boost innovation. So: technology isn't only about technology, but about how the whole society organises its structures and systems. #technology #competencedevelopment #RDI #digitaltransformation

🌟 Are You Ready to Challenge the Status Quo and Ditch Tech That Doesn’t Serve Your Educational Goals?" In a world overflowing with technological advancements, how do we determine which tools truly enhance our educational practices? 🤔 Enter the principle of "techno-selectionism"—a powerful approach that invites us to experiment boldly with new technologies while ensuring they align with our core values and priorities. 💡 At CINIA, we advocate for a discerning mindset when integrating technology into our classrooms. Rather than adopting every shiny new tool, we should critically evaluate each one's potential impact on learning outcomes, equity, and student engagement. 📚✨ By doing so, we can ensure that the tools we choose to implement enhance the educational experience rather than detract from it. This week, I visited the UNH InterOperability Lab (UNH-IOL), and I witnessed something remarkable: a place where young talent isn't just welcomed—it's deliberately empowered. Born from research at the University of New Hampshire in the 1980s, UNH-IOL has evolved into a powerhouse of networking innovation and standards compliance. Today, they employ 110 students working alongside 25 staff members, creating a unique environment where the next generation of engineers isn't just learning—they're doing. Since 1988, this organization has been ensuring that the network devices powering global communications and commerce work together seamlessly. From switch interoperability to physical layer standards, they're the reason why networking hardware manufactured decades apart still works together. But what struck me most wasn't their technical capabilities (which are impressive). It was their commitment to developing the next generation of technology leaders. Remember my recent post about how Boomers systematically dismantled opportunities for young professionals? (https://lnkd.in/gZ8ZW84G) Well, UNH-IOL is a refreshing counterexample. Here, students aren't just interns fetching coffee—they're actively participating in testing, development, and standards work that shapes our interconnected world. The organization is deliberately structured to transform young engineering talent into the standards committee chairpeople of tomorrow. They're not just teaching technical skills; they're cultivating the next generation of industry leaders who will guide the future of networking technology. This is how we break the cycle. This is how we restore the trust in young talent that once put humans on the Moon. This is how we build a better future for technology and innovation. Want to know what happens when you actually invest in young talent instead of creating artificial barriers? Visit UNH-IOL. The results speak for themselves. Happy Free-for-all Friday, Everyone! And wishing you all happy holidays! 🎄✨ #Innovation #TechnologyLeadership #EngineeringEducation #FreeForAllFriday
