Micromanagement, the act of excessively controlling an employee's work, is a pervasive issue in workplaces. While managers might believe it ensures quality and efficiency, the reality is micromanagement has a detrimental effect on employee productivity, leading to a cascade of negative consequences for both the individual and the organisation. While some may argue that such meticulous oversight ensures quality and efficiency, research and anecdotal evidence overwhelmingly suggest otherwise.
