"Good is the enemy of great." Jim Collins Businesses that settle for “good enough” often miss their potential for greatness. True growth requires challenging the status quo, reevaluating strategies, and striving for excellence every day, especially these days when the world is changing quickly. I certainly battled this myself while running companies in the past. Luckily, with mentors like my Dad and because of groups like Vistage and other great people in my network, I realized there are short cuts or cheat codes and other people with experience that know more than I do. I would be smart to pay attention to them. Fractional leadership or business advisory and consulting services are several ways to break free from “good enough” and chart a course toward greatness. Good is the enemy of great Geoff Miller. Like Brian Jue said...just a little extra effort and making the right resource investments is what yields the big return. My first CEO ran all of his business based on Jim Collin's principles. Even if G2G was published in 2001 it's still very relevant (especially today when we need to be reminded of the fundamentals of business) and up there with essentials like 7 habits, Winning Friends/Influencing People, and Challenger Sale for me.

Helping people raise their standards for how they show up in the world is my passion. I love the focus on standards over goals—standards are the real cheat codes. Most people waste so much energy searching for shortcuts when the key is simply committing to the basics of showing up consistently in ways that truly serve them. It's amazing how much shifts when we align our daily actions with higher standards.

And sometimes, to be great just takes a little bit more of an extra effort. Just got to make that small investment to yield bigger and better returns down the road. Great post Geoff Miller
