🚀 Advancing Automated Transport Together!🚀 “By continuing to share ideas and address challenges together, we can make significant progress in realising automated transport.” Today, Antoine de Kort and I presented the new European Forum on Automated Transport. Our initiative aims to exchange views and share best practices related to the deployment of automated transport with other European countries. We will address regulatory challenges that go beyond type approval, including liability and responsibility attribution, promising use cases with added societal value, and regulation on the use of automated vehicles. Reflecting on the Council conclusions that were adopted today and the Joint Commitments, it is clear that a collaborative approach is essentiel to realise automated transport in Europe. These highlight the need to make automated mobility a safe reality within the whole transport system. The past few days at the High Level Dialogue on Connected and Automated Transport organised by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2024 have been incredibly insightful and productive.
