A few months ago, a client reached out asking if I could set up a conversion tracking tag for when their website visitors “think about” clicking the contact form button. 😅 I was curious and asked, “Do you mean tracking when they hover over the button or click it?” They said, “No, I mean before they even decide. Can we track their intention?” 🤔 I had to laugh (and give them points for creativity). I explained that while we can track clicks, hover actions, and engagement, predicting someone’s thoughts is still a bit beyond the capabilities of web analytics tools like GA4 or Google Tag Manager—but maybe one day! It’s funny moments like these that keep things light in the world of conversion tracking and remind me how important it is to communicate the capabilities (and limits!) of our tools. What about you? Have you ever received a unique or funny request related to web analytics or tracking? Share your stories—I’d love to hear them! 😆👇 #WebAnalytics #ConversionTracking #GA4 #GoogleTagManager #ClientStories #DigitalMarketing #FunnyRequests #WorkHumor
