Skybox Technologies ApS’ Post

Recently, HLTV.org came out with an article that addresses the use of data products for match analytics and also player scouting. Skybox EDGE was mentioned several times setting a new standard. Comparatively to sports, competitive gaming is still a few years behind in data applications. We believe there are a few reasons for this: 1. Abundance of data makes it harder to decide what’s relevant, and not relevant data; 2. Wide access to data means too many teams trying their 'own thing'; 3. Extracting data and transforming it into insights needs technical skills, time consuming and prone to errors; 4. Data interpretation is not always easy to translate into good actions and decision-making. Using data for strategy is a key skill in improving competitive play, along with mechanical and soft skills such as communication. The earlier it’s learned how to use data, the bigger the reward in a player’s career and a team’s winnings. Skybox CMO Jacob Dietz adds that "Our primary objective is to save teams a ton of time. The analysis the teams perform manually, we try to automate at the click of a button." HLTV’s article is a recommended read (link below). Since the launch of our analytics platform Skybox Edge, we clearly see that competitive players are keen to invest in improving game play by assessing the hard facts. Congratulations to recent trophies winners Natus Vincere Team Vitality G2 Esports, we like to think you had a little edge by reading the stats well! https://lnkd.in/e86V3T-J #gaming #CS2 #analytics #performance
