Yes, it’s #WorldMentalHealthDay. Yes, the theme is #WorkplaceMentalHealth. Yes, it’s good to draw attention to this. But… …But mental health isn’t something we should talk about only once a year. Do we wait for a “physical health day” to go for a walk, get a check-up or take a break. Our mental well-being deserves the same attention. DAILY! If we want healthier workplaces, we need to make mental health part of the everyday conversation. Do you have the environments where employees feel supported and safe to share how they feel? What are you doing for your employees to open up, without fearing the stigma? So, yes, it’s good to raise awareness today.
