This why you never coil your tagline. Open communication allows team members to call out potential hazards or voice concerns about a situation. Early identification of risks allows for adjustments to be made before an incident occurs. By constantly talking, team members keep everyone informed about what's happening around them. This includes potential hazards, changes in the environment, and the progress of the task. This shared awareness allows for better decision-making and quicker responses to emergencies. #Free_Palestine 💚

For My Fellow First Responders: A Must-Watch. I had the privilege of presenting alongside Daniel Sundahl (Dan Sun) a few months ago and witnessing firsthand his authenticity and his passion to serve. He brings his lived experience to the forefront, shedding light on the challenges we face as first responders - not just on the job but at home, in our relationships, and within ourselves. In this latest webinar brought to us by First Response Mental Health, Dan unpacks the impact of trauma on relationships with honesty and care. Watching it, I saw pieces of my own journey reflected in his slides. It hit me deeply, and I know it will resonate with many of you too. Here’s what Dan offers: Real talk about how trauma can shift our mood, behavior, and connections. Tools for building understanding and communication with your partner. Hope for healing, empathy, and thriving beyond the weight of the job. This is the kind of conversation we all need to hear. Dan’s insight reminds us that while our work is tough, our relationships and mental health are worth fighting for. Take a listen!

"If we hold back who we are, we are less likely to be trusted" Just listened to a fabulous TED talk by Frances Frei (thanks for sending it to me Katy Jenner (CMIOSH) (MIIRSM)!). If you've got 15 minutes to spare, I implore you to listen to her TED talk from a few years back, all about building and rebuilding trust! https://lnkd.in/eC-D7cmm Building trust has been proven, time and time again, to be such an underrated skill in business. In Health and Safety, I've found that people on first encounter are skeptical- often stemming from negative experience with practitioners in the past (normally the ones who take photos of them when they're not looking and send it to their boss or the ones who put £100 fines in place for breaking rules that often don't make sense). Building trust is the key to unlocking the problems that workers face, and allowing them to start working with you and allow you to help facilitate solutions. Don't underestimate the power of trust! #trust #safety #healthandsafety
