For the love of all that is sacred - or secular - my chief development colleagues - stop telling your team that their donors are under giving. What you mean to say is that they are 'not giving to capacity.' Definitions are important - +not giving to capacity - we know they have wealth - but they are not giving 'what they could' +under giving - they have capacity and inclination - but - based on their inclination - they should be giving more Telling your major gifts officer that their donor(s) is/are 'under giving' points to 'something they could/should/ be doing more to align donor inclination to capacity. Terms are important.
