✨ Reflecting on an exciting year filled with growth, collaboration, and meaningful progress across multiple projects! In the InnoSale and HIPE projects (links in comments), we’ve been busy transforming research findings into concrete demonstrations alongside our industrial partners. These projects will wrap up in spring 2025, so stay tuned—more updates are on the way! Meanwhile, the OptiPEx project is moving full steam ahead after our kickoff in May. The consortium has been working seamlessly, translating project objectives into actionable requirements that will steer our R&D efforts in the coming year. I’m particularly excited about diving deeper into how passenger experience in public transport can be measured and modeled using remote, objective technologies—exploring how experience, behavior, and movement are intertwined to shape adaptive services. This year also brought me new dissemination experiences, like organizing the UHBER special session at the CBMI conference in Reykjavík and collaborating with colleagues from the University of Lapland to edit a book titled "Emotional Data Applications and Regulation of Artificial Intelligence in Society," set to be published in February 2025. I’m honored to have received a Recognition Reward at VTT this year, acknowledged for my work in customer and research projects and my contributions to dissemination activities. Feedback like this motivates me further! Looking ahead, 2025 promises to be just as dynamic: 💡 Finalizing and evaluating results from HIPE and InnoSale. 💡 Driving OptiPEx to the next stage—defining services that influence passenger experience. 💡 Exploring the potential of data in circular economy with the PlasticsCircularity project to retain value of end-of-life materials and support sustainable business models. 💡 Opening up paths for new projects. Something is already in the pipeline and new EU calls will be opening. Great colleagues, collaboration, innovation, and sustainability are at the heart of these projects. As we step into the new year, I want to take a moment to wish you all a Happy New Year! 📢 On December 5th Stephen Lernout and I will be at ASAM e.V.'s International Conference in Munich to talk about Deontic's efforts to convert natural language to driving scenarios. 🚗 Driving scenarios are essential in the development of cars. They help car makers simulate the behavior of their vehicles, to make sure they can be put on the roads safely. 🤖 Creating these scenarios, however, is a labor-intensive task. And while current Large Language Models can help coders write Python or Java, even GPT-4o struggles when it comes to creating complex scenarios. 🦾 However, with a number of modifications to the processing pipeline, we have found that it becomes possible to generate simulation scenarios that are syntactically accurate and faithful to the input. 💻 At the ASAM International Conference, we'll give participants exclusive insights into our technology and demonstrate its current capabilities. ➡️ Sounds interesting?
