The new Wizz airline subscription is making news! I think this is an ideal service for solo leisure travelers, but it may not be cost-effective for families or corporate travel. For instance, a family of four would need to pay a membership fee of at least 2k before being able to purchase tickets. This could be a significant expense, especially for a budget-conscious family. Corporate companies may not be willing to pay the subscription fee when business travelers often need to fly to multiple locations and may need to cancel trips at short notice.

JET2 or Ryanair ? I have done a lot of travelling recently and have used both Jet2.com and Jet2holidays and Ryanair - Europe's Favourite Airline Unfortunately (but as probably expected), Ryanair - Europe's Favourite Airline lived up to their reputation....poor customer service, antagonistic staff and certainly not putting the customer experience first. A recent trip to Berlin was terrible. The ground crew (actually Swissport) had absolutely no regard for what myself and my co-traveller had booked (cabin luggage). We were both forced to pay an excess baggage fee (that shouldn't have applied), and I had to pay my co-travellers fee as they wouldn't accept cash or integrated Apple payments - the expectation was "Get someone in the queue to pay using their CC and you give them the cash...we don't accept cash or mobile payments". When we questioned their policies, the immediate response was "If you don't like it then don't travel..and if you question us anymore, we will ring the police.." Pretty poor. Its obviously easy to rant about poor service, but most people don't acknowledge good service, which Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have provided on every occasion I have used them this year. My last trip to/from Malta included some heavy baggage, and they were helpful (even offered to carry them to bulky for us), didn't apply any surcharges when one bag was 1kg over the weight, and the cabin staff were super-friendly throughout the journey - we had some elderly passengers on the plane, and the assisted travel experience I witnessed was first-class! I have written to Jet2.com and Jet2holidays to lodge my gratitude, and I think it is always a nice touch when customers tell companies when they are doing things right. Yes Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are sometimes a little dearer than Ryanair - Europe's Favourite Airline but if you always buy on price then expect to receive equivalent treatment.
