In the millions of homes that already have electricity, there are things that break or need replacing. You will NEVER be in a position where you can’t make money. 2) Good earnings Electricians have the highest average salary out of all the trades. According to TradeSkills4U, these are the prices you can expect to charge for different jobs and how long they take- Fuse box replacement £500 (0.5 – 1 day) Light fitting replacement £40 – £60 (0.5 – 1 hour) Repair a damaged power cable £40 – £60 (0.5 – 1 hour) Electric cooker installation £50 – £80 (0.5 – 1 hour) Electric shower installation £250 – £400 (1 day) EV charge point installation £200 – £300 (1 day) 3) Interesting work With the skills you’ll gain from one our courses, you’ll be capable of doing a lot more than just domestic jobs. Maybe someone renovating their home, or maybe a property tycoon developing their 4th block of luxury apartments in London. All of those people will need an electrician. You never know where your skills and a good connection will take you. 5) Affordable training You can become £45,000+ in debt doing an oversaturated degree in the hopes that a company chooses you over the thousands of people that have done the same degree… OR You can get paid to do an apprenticeship, then do a course with us at PEIT (once you’re a qualified electrician) for the equivalent cost of a few nights out as a uni student. Your employer might even cover the cost for you. These are just a few reasons you might want to be an electrician. For more information about our courses, get in touch.

Is your electrician giving you red flags? 🚩 Not having the Master Electrician’s tick on your paperwork is a big red flag! Not everyone can become a Master Electrician; everyone starts with an apprenticeship and gains New Zealand qualifications and experience, but the work a Master Electrician must do in order to keep ‘the tick’ is ongoing. All Master Electricians undergo a Quality Assurance assessment and must meet strict standards of knowledge, experience, and professionalism, prioritising safety and quality. Master Electricians take Workplace Health and Safety seriously and must comply with the latest regulations and the necessary policies, guidelines, and procedures to keep everyone safe. We’ve been to a house in Clevedon where we installed an additional power point in a girls’ room. Once we cut a hole in the gib, we discovered that there was a wire in the wall that was live! This could have electrocuted anyone who touched it! There’s a very high chance that if they’re not a Master Electrician, they’re not up to date with best practices. French Electrical is a Master Electrician so you can trust your electrical work with us.

Electricians keep our lights on, literally! But becoming a master electrician takes dedication and serious skills. Here's a breakdown of their journey: ⚡️ Apprenticeship: It all starts with learning the ropes. Electrician apprenticeships typically last 4-5 years or 9,000-10,000 hours (Skills Trade Ontario) plus a 6-month classroom instruction with hands-on training under a licensed electrician. They learn electrical theory, safety codes, and installation techniques. Going to the next stage will have them require a journeyman's certification. ⚡️ Experience: After the apprenticeship and upon passing the certification, electricians become journeyman electricians. This is where they gain valuable real-world experience by working on various electrical projects. This can take a minimum of 3 years, racking up thousands of work hours to be eligible for the master electrician exam. ⚡️ Master Electrician Exam: The final hurdle! To become a master electrician, they need to pass a comprehensive exam testing their advanced knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and practices. This ensures they have the expertise to handle complex electrical systems and even supervise other electricians. Becoming a master electrician takes years of commitment and a passion for the trade. By knowing all this, would you consider a career as an electrician? ⚡ #vanco #vancoelectrical #electric #electrical #electricity #electrician #electricalwork #electrician #electricianswag #electricianlife #electricianslife #electricianstuff #electricianproblems #electricianapprentice #electricianspecialists #electrical #electricaltips #electricallife #electricalsafety #electricalengineer #electricalcontractor #electricalengineering #engineer #engineers #engineering #engineeringlife #EngineeringExcellence #engineerlife #engineerproblems #engineeringjobs

It’s becoming increasingly clear that the job market is experiencing a significant shift in the U.S. and globally. Many highly educated individuals with degrees in fields like technology, medicine, and business find it difficult to secure jobs that pay well enough or match their qualifications. Several factors have exacerbated this: 1. **Oversaturation of Certain Fields**: With so many people pursuing degrees in high-demand areas like tech and business, the market becomes oversaturated, leading to intense competition for available roles. 2. **Automation and Outsourcing**: Many traditionally high-paying jobs, especially in tech and business, are being automated or outsourced to cheaper labor markets, reducing opportunities domestically. 3. **Economic Disparities**: Many sectors may not be paying enough to meet the cost of living, even with advanced degrees. In contrast, the skilled trades often provide strong wages with lower educational costs upfront. As a result, there’s growing recognition of the financial potential in the trades. These careers offer higher stability, good pay, and the ability to start earning earlier through apprenticeships. While Forbes and other outlets might still list jobs in highly educated fields as prestigious or sought-after, it’s increasingly trades like plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, and construction that are proving to be both lucrative and in demand. The surge in trade careers shows that while degrees are valuable, they aren’t the only path to financial success, especially in an economy where practical skills are becoming more essential. Construction Manager. Elevator Mechanic. ... Dental Hygienist. ... Ultrasonographer. ... Boilermaker. ... HVAC Technician. Diesel Technician. ... Plumber. ... Electrician. ... Aircraft mechanic. No matter how much technology advances, there will always be essential services that require hands-on expertise. While many people are drawn to high-tech careers due to their prestige or perceived financial rewards, the demand for skilled trades like plumbing, electrical work, roofing, and dental hygiene remains constant. These jobs often offer excellent income potential and job security without the burden of long, expensive college degrees.
