IT IS FINALLY OUT 📜 ! I am delighted to announce the publication of our latest scholarly endeavour. In this paper, we undertake a nuanced examination, utilising the theoretical framework of intersectionality, to elucidate the profound significance of Nigeria's EndSARS movement as a unifying force, symbolically serving as an "umbrella ☂" under which myriad socio-political exigencies converge. This work represents a culmination of rigorous theoretical inquiry and empirical investigation, offering readers a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted dynamics inherent within contemporary Nigerian society. By interrogating the intricate interplay of various intersecting axes of identity and power, we endeavour to unravel the complexities underpinning the EndSARS movement, positioning it as a pivotal catalyst for broader sociopolitical transformation. Together, let us embark upon this intellectual odyssey, poised at the nexus of theory and praxis, as we navigate the complex terrain of social change and collective action. Stay engaged, for the discourse continues to unfold, with further papers awaiting release! https://lnkd.in/eqVVqYnu

https://lnkd.in/ghR85uid Who is running Canada? Why did trudeau remove Sikh terrorism from the list of the top 5 terror threats? He invoked The Emergency Act during peaceful protests by Canadians in 2022, Freedom Convoy, our Truckers and supporters who asked the government to meet with them in Ottawa to discuss covid 19 pandemic mandates. What did trudeau, freeland and MSM news do? Tried to ignite Canadians against the Freedom Convoy peaceful protestors, name calling and trying to ostracize them and anyone involved. trudeau's own cabinet asked him to speak with the official leaders of the protest, he refused, went into hiding, invoked the Act and froze bank accounts and funding. freeland smiled like a Cheshire cat when asked about freezing bank accounts by reporters. She couldn't hide her happiness that banks co-operated with her and froze accounts. Absolutely, Cold, Cruel and Small. Now her, trudeau and the Government of Canada are being sued over this. They still think they are right and were acting in the best interests of Canadians. What a slap in the face for all Canadians and the government itself, the law is the law and they are not above it even though they think they are. They have consistently continued their corrupt style of government, destroying our country with the support of equally corrupt coalitions. Our country is being sold out to Stakeholders of the world right in front of our eyes. It is corporate Stakeholder investors trying to build homes and rental properties in Canada, for profit and control of the market. They will set the market price as high as they want and are keeping prices high because of lack of supply and huge demand. trudeau is working for them and using our taxdollars pretending he is building homes faster than anytime in Canadian history. If you believe that we'll what can I say. trudeau himself has stated he wants home prices to remain where they are. Well that means just one thing, remain out of reach and unaffordable for middle-class and the poor. He's all about protecting Canadians; it is obvious which ones he is protecting, the ultra rich who invest in real estate, buying and selling, making profit and being able to write off taxes on their investments and gains. Nothing wrong with making a profit where and if you can, but it is unfair to be in control and monopolize against those who are not as rich. Any monopoly is wrong, how many do our current government support? Too many, in too many different areas and segments in a supposedly free market, ultimately leading to little or no competition whatsoever and keeping prices high and set. Think about what groups lobby our governments and are making themselves richer while we become poorer. Government is not working for the overall benefit of Canadian citizens as they claim they are. 🤔💭🤔 One day closer to our next federal election. 🌞

I don't usually wade into politics with what I write, but thought this was worth saying: "We are Jews. We know that no matter what we do, it will never be enough. We may never truly be accepted into the community of nations, and Israel may always, from this point forward, be considered a pariah state. Maybe this is the new normal. Maybe public opinion will from now on always be against us, or we will always have demands made against us that we can simply never fulfill. But, there are some things that can be done. I think the first thing, is to pardon Bibi, and give him an opportunity to gracefully bow out of Israeli politics. His legacy, as a fighter, an advocate, in some ways the father of Israel as a start up nation, is already forever tarnished. 2023’s judicial overhaul moment and 10/7 were likely the final nails in the coffin of Bibi’s legacy. So let’s give him a way out. Pardoning Bibi is not a display of weakness, but rather one of strength. If President Herzog were to do it, it would show the world that Israel has opted to pick its battles, it has listened to some public opinion, and that it wants to do better. It is one thing that can actually be done, that could fix some of the issues Israel currently faces." https://lnkd.in/gwQRhQPx

Israel cannot survive as a nation, if it gives into terroism, simple as that—it has no choice but to fight until Hamas surrenders. And everyone knows that Hamas will never surrender, and that it will never live in peace with Israel. Given this, the only rational response for Israel is to do what it’s doing, extinguishing Hamas. Exactly what do these protesters think their safety looks like if Israel capitulates? Given that Israel accepted the U.S. sponsored cease fire, and given as of last week, Hamas refused to even attend mediation sessions, exactly how was Israel supposed to negotiate with Hamas? It is an insane reality in which Israel exists, and if its citizens turn against their country, what do they think happens?

✊Rights of Citizens to Protest : Extent and Limits❗ Protesting is a fundamental right in any democratic society, serving as a crucial means for citizens to express their opinions, grievances, and demands. In Nigeria, the right to protest is enshrined in the Constitution and various international conventions to which Nigeria is a signatory. Constitutional rights to protest 1. Freedom of Expression (Section 39): The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, guarantees the right to freedom of expression. This encompasses the right to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference. 2. Freedom of Assembly and Association (Section 40): Nigerian citizens have the right to assemble freely and associate with other persons, particularly to form or belong to any political party, trade union, or any other association for the protection of their interests. 3. Freedom of Movement (Section 41): This ensures that every citizen is free to move throughout Nigeria and reside in any part thereof, thus facilitating the ability to participate in protests in different locations. Are there limits of protest ❓ While the right to protest is protected, it is not without limits. These limitations are designed to balance the rights of individuals with the need to maintain public order, protect national security, and safeguard the rights and freedoms of others.
