Recently, we collaborated with the Danish Technological Institute to 3D print the inner core of an injection moulding tool, addressing challenges in machining and production. Tonny Sprogø, Product Manager at AVK International, explains: “We updated the moulds for our POM service valves used in distribution networks. 3D printing helped us overcome machining challenges, producing precise parts while streamlining production.” This innovative approach gives us better control over the heat development when producing the part. We get complete control over the process resulting in more efficient production and higher product quality. Carsten Rygaard Madsen has the role of manager in The Exciting Products department at LINAK. Let's call them the company's own problem solvers. 🧠 By creative ideas and transforming them into reality through 3D Printing, the team is making LINAK more agile. Not only can they print parts to keep production running after a break-down, but also reduce development time to get products to customers in need faster. 📦 Through this process, they are taking big steps towards making 3D Printing something that, is seen as something simple and easy to use, throughout the whole organisation. The end goal being that from assembly worker to director level, it is commonplace to hear them say; “Let’s just 3D print it”. Moyna & Sons has to work efficiently. When the COVID pandemic hit, the team realized how many parts were suddenly difficult to acquire. The Desktop Metal Shop System was installed in 2023 to 3D print 17-4 PH stainless steel parts in-house and the team now uses metal binder jetting for rapid prototyping in R&D, product improvement, and restorations. “We had such a hard time finding pieces and parts. There was a lot of little 20 or 80 cent parts that we could not find. Then we kind of looked through them and realized, Hey, we can just 3D print this.’” Ryan Young, Technology Coordinator at C.J.
