Last Saturday was well spent. I had the honor of evaluating Amal Academy's recent cohort's mega projects. It was also a pleasure to connect with Mr. Ali Siddiq and hear his perspectives. About the presentations: What impressed me was that all projects had an element of social and responsible entrepreneurship. Students put forth plans where profit margins were equally important as environmental sustainability. 💁♀️ Best part: It was not mere talk. These mini businesses were already up and running. Reaping decent profits as well. The amount of learning this offers outweighs that of cramming a dozen course books. As a Judge, I couldn't help but admire the comprehensive evaluation rubric. I have a knack for details, so it took me a while to grasp the multidimensional assessment tools 😅 Fair to say, it shows the effort invested in building a mechanism for constructive feedback for the Amal fellows. Thankyou Lyba Wains for having me onboard.
