URGENT! IT’S TIME FOR RESEARCH!!! Hi everyone! I am a 4th year clinical psychology doctoral student at the University of Indianapolis. I am looking for dissertation research participants who are mental health professionals in training or practice aged 18 or older. If you are a graduate student in a mental health-related graduate program or a practicing mental health professional, then you are eligible for the study. For those who are graduate students in a mental health-related graduate program, you MUST be engaged in ongoing clinical work. The purpose of my study is to gain a better understanding of the role of personality traits in the workplace. For the study, you will be asked to complete a series of brief questionnaires regarding your personality traits and experiences related to your clinical work. The survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete. Your participation is voluntary, and all responses will be kept confidential. This research project was approved by the University of Indianapolis Institutional Review Board (IRB) on 11/21/2024; # 02157. For more information, please refer to the flyer attached. Feel free to share this study with anyone who may be interested and meets the inclusion criteria! Thank you in advance! Survey link: https://lnkd.in/gYE7kRXV

This month marks four years for me at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and I can't believe how quickly it's gone by - and to mark the occasion, Shweta Ghosh, PhD invited me to talk to her psychology fellows on the west coast over at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals to discuss applying to jobs and making professional goals in early career. So because I'm certainly not the expert, I'm turning to the #PedPsych hivemind - comment below with the best advice you received as a fellow when it came to job applications and professional goal-setting!

Someone in my DClinPsy cohort once said: "I knew I only wanted to be a clinical psychologist, so I was just going to keep applying and applying until eventually I get a place....." And I thought wow, that level of resolve and acceptance must be liberating, in some ways. Me, on the other hand... I truly had to put myself back together and psych myself up to apply after both rejections, so I was never sure I would apply again. One thing we both my cohort buddy and I had in common is that we explored other roles and opportunities and considered other jobs that would enable us to express our values between applications. Through that process I became more convicted that clinical psychology was for me, over other careers. This process gave me the strength to apply THREE TIMES! Despite our different responses, my colleague and I both got a place and studied in exactly the same cohort. Not getting a place is tough but it's only a part of the grand story! There is sooo much left to be written! You have the power, you have the pen. So, are you more like my fellow cohorter (defo applying again) or like me (not sure if will apply again)? . . . . . . . . . . . #dclinpsy #career #clinpsy #clinicalpsychology #clinicalpsychologystudent #clinicalpsychologist #psyd #doctorate #uni #doctor #doctormelodysmith #psycgology #psychologist

Work in I-O Psychology is gaining popularity, but it isn't an easily recognized career like a doctor, lawyer, or police officer. There are a wide variety of potential careers that someone with an education in I-O Psychology could work in, such as working on selection or hiring systems, performance evaluations, training and development, data analytics, and many other areas. Most I-O Psychology work is going to coincide with the Human Resources function. - Source: PsychLearningCurve.org #psychology #iopsychology #workplacepsychology #hr #humanresources #masters #usa
