According to the most recent UN Global E-Waste Monitor, a staggering 62 billion kilograms of e-waste were generated globally in 2022. This amount is projected to soar to 82 billion kilograms by 2030. At Sibanye-Stillwater Reldan, we live this year’s International E-Waste Day theme, “Retrieve, Recycle, and Revive!” Taking forgotten electronics from homes and businesses that harbor valuable reusable materials and processing said materials so that they can be put back into manufacturing. As of 2023, Sibanye-Stillwater Reldan has diverted over 244 million pounds of materials from landfills that including E-waste. #ewastehunt, #junkdrawer #ewasteday #preciousmetalsrefining #circulareconomy

MAKE A DATE: International E-Waste Day takes place on October 14 with the aim of highlighting the importance of responsible management of electronic waste. It is staged by the WEEE Forum, the international association representing producer responsibility organisations and is aimed mostly at the domestic market. Two years ago nearly 62 billion kg of e-waste was generated globally – that’s a staggering 1.55 million trucks filled with e-waste lined up bumper to bumper along the Earth's equator. And now, the predicted quantities of e-waste is expected to rise to 82 billion kg by 2030, reports resource.co, so the situation might be described as very serious. This year's campaign slogan is: 'Join the E-Waste Hunt - Retrieve, Recycle, and Revive!', aiming to inspire us all to declutter our homes of unused devices. In the UK, the 'Recycle your Electricals campaign' is focusing on raising awareness about the importance of recycling cables. 📰 Full story: https://lnkd.in/etuBeHfh ♻ Contact iWaste for all your commercial e-waste recycling, disposal and secure destruction needs: ☎ 0330 1200 250 📨 hello@iwaste.co.uk

Today is World E-Waste Day. This year's theme is "Join E-Waste hunt - Recover, Recycle and Revive" Electronic waste, or e-waste, refers to all items of electrical and electronic equipment and their components that have been discarded as waste by its owner without reuse. About 2.81 million metric tons of e-waste is generated every year which is a big challenge for the future world. If e-waste is dumped on the ground without recycling, it contaminates the soil and enters the crops through the roots of the crops and creates various complications. Various activities are already underway by Walton for proper management of e-waste. Soon we will be able to recycle 100% e-waste.

Today the UN published a report that every year 62 billion kg e-waste is produced. It’s a real problem and we try to support as much as we can by using upto 50% recycled materials in our key products. We’ve also learned from some of our key partners that by installing our solutions into their offices there is no more need to buy regularly new charging cables or adaptors which got broken or lost. Per today 0.1% of the total e-waste are cables, percentage wise small but still 62 million kg e-waste! Let’s keep working on it!

A groundbreaking alliance has been instituted to surveil the progression of electronic waste globally. This initiative is envisioned to aid nations in procuring precise statistics about e-waste, an escalating environmental and health challenge. The partnership will serve as a lynchpin in proffering crucial data and insights to a host of stakeholders, including policymakers, industries, academic institutions, media, and the public at large. The alliance strives to collect data on global e-waste trends and utilize this information to steer policymaking and devise solutions. This includes statistics on the volume of e-waste generated, recycling rates, and the environmental and health impacts of improper e-waste disposal. #r2certified #ewaste #ewasterecycling #erecycling #ITAD #circulareconomy

Have you ever wondered what happens to your e-waste after you’ve put it in your Reclaim e-waste bins? 🤔 Your e-waste is collected by our trucks and brought to our partners at Echo. 🚛 The e-waste is then securely repurposed if applicable or valuable materials and resources that are otherwise destined for landfill are extracted from electronics. If e-waste is at the end of its life, these are destroyed, shredded, and transported for recycling. All of the material that you throw in your Reclaim e-waste bin is touched by multiple people throughout its journey from your bin to the recycling plant. To maintain the value of the product AND keep our people safe, please make sure the right materials are being thrown into our bins. ♻ #eWaste #ElectronicWaste #Recycling #SeriousAboutRecycling
