Status Quo or Status No? The Airline Crewing Enigma - Expert Think Tank expert panel discussion is fast approaching, and with it, a question that’s been lingering since the latest round of customer events from IT vendors last week: What’s next? AI, ML, another optimization algorithm, many new IT system features — it all sounds exciting, but let’s face it, was maybe the real personal goal to meet aviation industry peers, grab some fun, food and beers, and then return to "business as usual"? Predictive Maintenance isn't a new concept—it's a smart adaptation to an old problem. Consider the chaotic symphony of airport operations. Planes, like clockwork, follow rigid schedules. Or at least, they try. The wrench in the gears? Unscheduled maintenance, that pesky beast, lurks behind creaky wheels and wearied engines. AI, with its cool, calculated algorithms, predicts these interruptions before they happen, like a sage whispering in the ear of an oblivious apprentice. Flights become punctual. Delays grow rarer. The engineers, now omniscient, react before the problem manifests. Passengers smile, bags in hand, caffeinated and content—not stranded.
