#WorldMemtalHealthDay This year’s theme set by the World Federation of Mental Health is workplace mental health. The theme highlights the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, for the benefit of people, organisations, and communities 💚

🌍 World Mental Health Day 🌏– A moment to reflect, raise awareness, and promote understanding. Mental health is just as important as physical health, yet it often goes overlooked in our fast-paced, demanding lives. Today, let's take a step back and remind ourselves of the importance of self-care, compassion, and support for those around us. Whether you're struggling or thriving, remember that it's okay to ask for help, take a break, or simply check in with yourself. And for leaders and colleagues, let’s continue creating environments where mental health is prioritised, where people feel safe to speak up, and where seeking help is seen as a strength, not a weakness. 💚 How can we make a difference? - Start conversations: A simple "How are you?" can go a long way. - Break the stigma: Normalise mental health discussions in your workplace and community. - Be kind: You never know what someone is going through behind the scenes. Some people find work to be a rest bite from their home lives but most of us work to live. As a wellbeing tutor for Harrow Council, I delivered "Understanding Stress" and "Work/Life Balance" workshops for council staff during the pandemic. When our home life is in harmony and families are well, that goes a long way towards our own wellbeing. Part of my daily affirmations remind me to "be responsible for others by being responsible with yourself". Here is our contribution towards significantly better mental health for children (7-11yrs & SEND), teaching skills that adults would also benefit from. We know this because we've taught them to many service users at Mind, we know it works. https://lnkd.in/ezymSAnp We use this to fund charity activities, it's value far outweighs it's cost. 💪🧠 Have a great day whatever you are doing. 🌤️

The theme of World Mental Health Day this year is “it’s time to prioritise mental health in the workplace“. In the fast-paced, 24/7 world that we live in, more employees than ever before are experiencing chronic stress, that can eventually lead to burnout. This doesn’t happen overnight, it can be gradual, and can take hold before you’re even truly aware of it yourself. The thing about burnout and workplace stress, is that it doesn’t just impact the one individual that is feeling it, it can impact the whole team, the whole department, or in some cases, the whole workplace. Changing the working environment is a constant challenge, and it can feel like you take two steps forward, and then three steps back; but it’s imperative that we keep pushing forward and removing the hurdles. By addressing workplace burnout, we can create a more productive, engaged, and fulfilled workforce. A mentally healthy and happy workplace is better for everyone.
