Good morning, everyone! This morning I’m thinking about complacency. If there is one thing to be learned from history, no evil person, regime or philosophy stands a chance of success without the complacency and ignorant complicity of good, decent people. The examples are stark and range from ancient times to the present. Wars, genocide, discrimination, slavery, religious persecution; almost all traceable to warped minds and evil intentions. But also almost all were or might have been preventable but for the abject complacency of those watching. “They wouldn’t do that” or “that will never happen”, is proven wrong time and time again. Complacency paves the road to certain death, destruction and ultimately, extinction. Once your mind has processed the facts, do not be silent and complacent. As a world of thinking human beings, we have the ability to act. Think about where we are right now in this moment in time. It doesn’t have to be this way. Today’s art is “Dot Oclock”.
