Only 10 days until the General Election 2024: let’s put child welfare in the rooms where it matters The child welfare system is in crisis, with a record number of children in the care system, many far away from family and friends. Kinship care is an option that works for children, families and the state. Yet too often kinship families struggle to access the practical, emotional and financial support they need. Meanwhile some private children’s homes providers are making huge profits and local authority budgets are under severe strain. It doesn’t have to be this way. The candidates in your area are campaigning for your vote. It’s your chance to make them sit up and listen. Will you help by using Family Rights Group’s ecampaign tool - it'll take 2 minutes - to send an email today to your local candidates? And please encourage family, friends & colleagues to do likewise. https://lnkd.in/dfg9xkDJ

🎙Looking forward to presenting at the 2024 International Call To Action to Change Child Welfare Conference. It is projected that this conference will have 2000 participants from 25 countries. Delighted to have the proposal accepted! Our focus is on improving the experiences and outcomes of young people who have had little to no choice, and have had to become institutionalized via various placements in the institutionalization system - commonly called the Child Welfare system. Historically and currently, youth transitions from child welfare are inequitable, and the services and supports young people recieve and experience, across Canada, are inequitable. We will present to delegates the National Evaluation Model and Indicators that are complimentary to jurisdictional developments and redesigns. Equitable Standards from coast to coast to coast is of importance - and for integration to happen across organizations and all levels of governments. Children who are institutionalized matter. Their futures matter. Their wellness matters. I will be co-presenting with my colleague from Manitoba. We will be representing the Canadian National Council of Youth In Care Advocates, as well as Voices Manitoba and the Ontario Children's Advancement Coalition respectively. Public Policy initiatives are integral shifts and progressions, and we look forward to sharing our work, in Canada, with people Internationally. #ChildWelfare #Canada #International #PublicPolicy #Policy #Evaluation #Wellness #Children #Equity #Diversity #Inclusion #Presenter #Presentations #Speaking
