Rewriting the Rules of Hotel F&B | Founder of Award-Winning Auden Hospitality | Podcast Host | International Keynote Speaker
In the last year I have spoken to many hoteliers, experts and vendors about hotel F&B and these are the top 5 things that always come up. Take a look at what we’ve discussed… 1. REVENUE We all need more revenue. —> Challenge your offer and make sure you focus on quality. 2. TEAM We are struggling to find great people. —> How good is your team experience and how good is your training? 3. TECH We need to evolve and embrace tech. —> Tech is at the heart of everything we do todya, we have to move with the times! 4. TREVPAR F&B is becoming more and more important. —> We always knew this though didn’t we? 5. FUTURE It’s a worry, F&B is losing out to the Indies, how do we get it back? —> Learn how they have the edge and see how you can adapt to compete? These topics aren’t changing. It’s time for more people join the conversation. It’s time to think differently. Who’s with me? #innovation #thinkdifferently2024 #hospitality #hotels

What a lovely report created by our Melbourne team! 💖 Food and cooking is one of my biggest interest, and having lived in the UK for 10 years I can definitely see a rise in the F&B market with more food offerings (finally!) from different regions and countries. Although I haven't been to Australia yet, I have heard many good things about the F&B market there and this report has definitely tempt me even more so to visit 💕 My fav stat from this report is.. “Consumers are focusing on prioritising local food (48%), paying attention to ingredients (37%) and respecting the environment (36%) in 2023” - Allso, 2023 Reason being that it's so true! Amongst all the amazing food I've had in the UK, the best ones, majority of times are small restaurants / cafes that offers food from local produce. Whether it's seafood, vegetables and or herbs. It reminds me how important it is to respect the land that we live in and also embrace the local wonders that surround us! #localfood #foodandbeverage #report

Six words that will make you think differently about your F&B outlets 'The old way doesn't work anymore' This is why... --> The independents are leading the way --> Guests are looking for a different experience --> Personalisation is a game changer --> Life lives in short form --> Guests want to engage --> Your teams are more knowledgable (there's a difference between knowledge and skill 😉) Don't dream of the past And more importantly Don't hold your teams to it Because 2024 needs you to think differently And if you do you are going to stand out in the crowd Who agrees? 🙋🏼♂️ #innovation #thinkdifferently2024 #hospitality #hotels

During our trip last month, we experienced the spectrum of hospitality, from a small, family-run gem in Wengen to a disappointing stay at a large, well-known hotel in Prague. What made the difference? Surprisingly, it was a simple offering: a mandatory breakfast included in the tariff. I realized that for a hotel, breakfast wasn’t just a meal. It was an opportunity for the staff to spend more time with customers, showcasing their hospitality and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Plus, it opened up chances to upsell other meals, spa services, and more. The standout quality of this family-run hotel was the staff’s habit of asking, 'Is everything good here?' This warm, personal touch, delivered with a genuine smile, made a world of difference—something often missing in larger, impersonal hotels. This made me think: in our B2B sales cycles, perhaps CXOs could periodically check in with the same simple question, 'Is everything good here?' These small, thoughtful gestures can be instrumental for Davids competing with Goliaths in any industry, fostering stronger relationships and trust.
