"Artists are invited to apply for a commission to create a new work of art using augmented reality (AR) and/or immersive technology (XR) to form part of the Cosmic Titans exhibition. This exhibition will take place at the Djanogly Gallery, Lakeside Arts, the University of Nottingham’s public arts centre from 25 January to 27 April 2025 before touring. Cosmic Titans is an innovative art/science exhibition that communicates to the general public the excitement and importance of fundamental research highlighting the synergy between science goals and achievements in quantum technology. This new AR/XR work will be one of the major works in this exhibition and should reflect these values and ambitions. The central theme of Cosmic Titans revolves around the concept of blind ways of seeing, where the physics of the universe and black holes stand as poignant examples. These subjects share the common characteristic that they are inherently unobservable - either too small, vast, or distant to experience directly. In both science and art, we find avenues to transcend our limited perception envelope. Ingenious inferences and deductions enable us to perceive beyond our immediate senses, allowing us to envision realities that, while invisible to our eyes, bring us closer to understanding the intricacies of the cosmos." https://lnkd.in/gxxZrnBj

Born in the 1960s, Fluxus was all about breaking down the boundaries between art and everyday life. Its rebellious spirit still resonates today, and bringing that energy into a private collection could change the way we think about art. Instead of focusing on traditional, static displays, imagine a collection that's constantly evolving, interactive and challenges the role of the viewer. That is why the collection's manifesto explicitly embraces the concept of 'FLUX', adapting Fluxus principles to contemporary contexts. Here are key points that demonstrate the connections between Fluxus ideals and the DSL Collection's approach: Democratising access to art: The DSLCollection uses digital platforms and virtual reality to make art globally accessible, echoing Fluxus's goal of breaking down barriers between art and everyday life. Interactivity and participation: The virtual museum invites visitors to engage with artworks in new ways, in keeping with Fluxus's emphasis on audience participation. Embracing new media: By using VR, video games and other digital technologies, the collection continues Fluxus's tradition of exploring contemporary forms of expression. Challenging traditional institutions: The DSL Collection offers virtual alternatives to conventional museums, much as Fluxus challenged the established norms of the art world. Focus on process and experience: The collection's emphasis on the artistic journey rather than the final product is in keeping with Fluxus principles. Some key differences - The highly technological focus of the DSLCollection contrasts with the often low-tech approach of Fluxus. The use of immersive technologies and digital platforms could be seen as creating a spectacle, which could be at odds with Fluxus's often anti-spectacular approach. Fluxus often emphasised direct, physical interaction with artworks and performances. The virtual could be criticised for removing this tactile, immediate experience that was central to many Fluxus works. In summary, the DSLCollection's approach can also be seen as an evolution of Fluxus principles, adapting them to contemporary contexts and technologies while retaining the core values of accessibility, interactivity and challenging artistic norms.

Proud to finally unveil my latest creation! 🔥🙌 [Geometry of Emotions] is an immersive, interactive, and generative digital artwork, born from a collaboration with electronic/generative musician Matthieu Pernaud. A show specially imagined for REXPERIENCE, the largest immersive art space in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur)! Lasting 15 minutes, this experience is displayed in a massive immersive space and includes video projection on the floor and on three walls (20 video projectors), with spatialized sound diffusion (16 speakers). This entire creation is generative and interactive, capable of reacting in real time to the presence of spectators, thanks to a LIDAR sensor! [Geometry of Emotions] uses Unreal Engine 5 for the visuals, and Ableton / Max For Live / XP4L for the spatialized sound. The immersive space is based on a nDisplay system driven by Unreal Engine and Touchdesigner. [Geometry of Emotions] offers a journey into the heart of our emotions in a world overwhelmed by digital technology, exploring the concept of the duality between geometry/organic, artificial/natural. Through a path intertwining geometric abstractions, figurative elements, and organic movements, this creation provides a contemplative sensory experience. Interactivity here offers the possibility of dialogue, allowing the spectator to influence the artwork and be influenced in return. -> More information and pictures of the [Geometry of Emotions] project: https://lnkd.in/egAnfS2h ---------- #immersiveart #immersiveinstallation #immersive #interactive #experience #ue5 #unrealengine5 #touchdesigner #digitalart #creativecoding #newmediaart

**Exploring New Frontiers in Art: Kansas City's First Digital Art Gallery Unveils an Augmented Reality Mural** Exciting news from Kansas City as it pioneers the integration of augmented reality (AR) with street art, launching the first digital art gallery in the region. This innovative project features a vibrant window mural crafted by a talented street artist from St. Louis. Peat “Eyez” The mural not only beautifies the cityscape but also serves as a portal to digital realms, thanks to its augmented reality overlay. This collaboration represents a significant stride in bridging physical and digital art, offering a dynamic way to engage with public artworks! By simply using their mobile devices, visitors can experience an additional layer of interactivity and immersion, transforming a traditional viewing into a captivating, interactive encounter. The benefits of incorporating AR into public art are manifold. Augmented reality amplifies the narrative capacity of artworks, enabling artists to tell stories in multi-dimensional spaces and connect more deeply with audiences. It also democratizes access to art, allowing people to experience augmented layers from anywhere, broadening the audience beyond those who can visit in person. For artists, this means an opportunity to expand their creative horizons and explore new forms of expression. For developers, it's a call to innovate further, developing AR tools that are adaptable to artists' needs and capable of breaking through the limitations of location-specific applications. Let's celebrate this milestone in Kansas City and continue to support the fusion of technology and creativity in redefining public art. The possibilities are endless, and the future of art looks incredibly exciting. #DigitalArt #AugmentedReality #PublicArt #ArtTech #KansasCityArt

Think pink studio x Metaxis Festival 🙌🏽 A preview of the installation Bilita Mpash was shown at the Metaxis Festival in Budapest. I am very grateful to the team for the opportunity to show part of the project. We are waiting for an article about the festival in PROMPT Magazine In Bilta Mpash project my aim was to explore the potential of meta-space in the creation of art experiences. The experience of art cannot copy what we are used to seeing in galleries, museums, and familiar performative spaces, because the laws of attention and direction in the digital landscape operate according to different laws. Digital art can also refer to the deep experience and perception inherent in art, but how can it work in the digital environment? How do aesthetics, the process of contemplation, and the direction of attention work in a digital space? I think it is very important to explore the potential of meta-worlds from the point of view of art, the experience of Covid and the rapid projects created in digital space, the attempts to show the usual physical reality according to other laws have shown that we are only at the beginning of the road. About BILITA MPASH: Bilita Mpash is a digital installation that merges digital objects and meta-space. It includes AR and VR experiences. This project explores the forms and landscapes of a new digital nature, seeking a balance between digital and physical realities, similar to the link between consciousness and subconsciousness. It explores the theme of digital rituals and redefines beauty in the context of modern diversity. Today's art scene is increasingly integrating augmented reality (AR), transforming the way we experience and interact with artworks. AR allows artists to overlay digital information onto physical environments, creating immersive and interactive experiences that bring static pieces to life with motion, sound, and user interaction. This blend of physical and digital realms enables new dimensions of creativity, making art more dynamic and engaging. AR extends beyond traditional galleries, reaching public spaces and home environments, democratizing the art experience and encouraging broader participation. By merging art with technology, AR enriches the aesthetic experience and challenges traditional boundaries, fostering a more interactive and participatory form of art appreciation.
