Christmas Day at the Shepherds of Good Hope community kitchen magnifies the need of people experiencing homelessness and shines a light on the volunteers, staff and community at large who care for them. This Christmas, the Ottawa Citizen dropped by Shepherds kitchen to speak with Husa Delice an award-winning Shepherd's volunteer, Chef Peter Gareau, and Azery, a community member in his seventies, who was grateful for the warm meal and a place to sit and relax, out of the cold. The Citizen also visited The Ottawa Mission and Cornerstone Housing for Women, where they heard similar stories of acceptance and support. Take a moment and read this article, look at the photos, see the smiling faces. This is how community works together. Helping people when they need it most; its a gift that keeps on giving. https://lnkd.in/eGzwEh5Y Stephen Bartolo, eMBA, CEC David Gourlay Volunteer Ottawa
