For many, roles like pet sitting or chauffeuring offer something that high-stakes jobs often struggle to provide: simplicity, flexibility, and a sense of control,” says Saumitra Chand, career expert at Indeed.Edwin Tan | E+ | Getty Images“Pet sitter,” “chauffeur,” “bakery assistant” and other service jobs are drawing a surge of interest in Singapore, according to the 2024 Rising Jobs list by job matching and hiring platform Indeed. While workers in the country eye service and support roles, employers are focused on finding talent in high-demand fields such as artificial intelligence, according to Indeed’s study which analyzed job postings and click trends on the platform between November 2023 and November 2024.

2 job offers from Singapore! I know that's crazy and I loved it when my client got this. When he came to me, he was stuck and confused about the job market abroad. And that's so normal. Being in this industry for 5 years now, I always stay updated about the job market & opportunities. I ✓ guided him with all his questions, ✓ crafted an ATS-friendly resume & ✓ actively applied to jobs relevant to his niche Above all, I kept him in the loop throughout. The best part? His joy knew no bounds because he never thought of getting one in Singapore. And he got 2. Yes, the opportunities are endless, given you put the needed efforts strategically and are patient enough. P.S. Are you someone who wants a job abroad but feel confused and lost? The truth about career breaks: They’re not holidays. I rarely see someone go to Vietnam for months and just chill. They are: - Taking time off to look after a loved one. - Recovering from a toxic boss/company. - Learning a new skill. - Looking for a job. - Grieving. Anyone who takes time off the certainty of a paycheck to add some balance and equanimity to their life is courageous and should be respected. Who cares if you take 6 months off in a 20-year career? Build a life, not a resume. #CorporateLife #Employees #HR #Team #Hiring #CorporateCulture #meenakshibhot

Open To Work White Flag I see many people reached out to the LinkedIn community to enhance their chances of finding new opportunities by posting an #OpentoWork post. It’s important to strike the balance in such posts, expressing eagerness without sounding desperate. Begin our post by expressing gratitude, which sets a positive tone and shows that we value our professional journey and network. Be specific about the types of roles we are interested in and the skills we bring to the table. Don’t forget to briefly mention our key accomplishments without going overboard. Instead of just asking for help, mention that we are open to sharing our own insights or assistance, making the interaction more reciprocal. Close with a soft call to action, encouraging our network to share our post or get in touch if they know any suitable opportunities. Example Post: I am grateful for my time at PERSOLKELLY, where I developed my HR & Service Operations skills. Leading a team of 22 professionals, I’ve developed and implemented comprehensive HR & Service strategies, supporting the growth from 200 to 450 employees and achieving >30% NPS year-on-year. I’m looking for new challenges in either HR or Operations and am eager to bring my 20 years of experience to a dynamic new team. If you have leads or need insights in HR or Services Operations, let’s connect. Your support in sharing this post is greatly appreciated. Well, to be clear I am not looking for a job. BUT… my Johor EA Tour tickets are not selling as expected, so I’m reaching out to ask for help to spread the word about my Employment Act One-Day Crash Course. If you know someone in Johor or nearby regions like Singapore or Kuching who could benefit from this training, please share this post with them or directly invite them to join us. Every share, like or comment helps us reach more people. We are also giving out the updated Employment Act 1955 book published by MECA Employers Consulting Agency for free! The link to sign up is here: https://lnkd.in/gEgPfeWH Looking forward to meeting many of you there and delivering a training that truly makes a difference. xoxoxo, AuntyHR #OpenToTrain #SOS #WhiteFlagPost #BebelBimbo Spread the Word for Me Sim Ling KU

90% of jobs can be taught. We work in some markets, like Saudi and Singapore where people insist on experience and skills based hiring, even though the market is very candidate short. What happens - you seriously overpay talent. Why do most employers care about: - Education - Experience It doesn’t always work. Instead of degrees, let’s look at attitude. Instead of experience, let’s look at values alignment. During interviews: - Don't become obsessed about the CV - Talk about who the person is When hiring for MCG Talent - attitude has always been way more important than experience. Build a growth-based culture. Teach the role. 7-Figure Recruitment Scaling Systems #attitude #hiring #recruitment

🤔 Has Anyone Else Experienced This? 🚩 I recently came across a job posting that required full-time hours (5.5 days a week) but offered no base salary. As a mother of four, giving away that extra half day on a Saturday without a guaranteed income to rely on is quite tough, even if I’m confident in my ability to realistically hit their KPIs. Is it common in Singapore to accept this kind of work arrangement? I’m curious to hear from others: •Have you encountered similar job offers?•How did you handle it? •Is this type of work arrangement becoming more common? Looking forward to your thoughts and experiences. Let’s discuss! #JobSearch #CareerAdvice #WorkingMums #EmploymentTrends #LinkedInCommunity

On Hiredly, candidates for technology jobs have sky rocketed recently... with 50% more applications than the average job on our platform. This has never happened before in the history of our platform. If anything, tech talent were always scarce in supply while high in demand, and employers had to rely mainly on headhunting to reach them. Now it’s still in demand from employers but it seems there are more Malaysian talent in the tech space now. It’s an exciting time for global/ regional tech companies to hire talent from Malaysia, with our diversity and quality of talent. Salaries not as high as those in more developed countries, so you can propose a good salary that will make both parties happy. Hiredly is working to help bring more global and regional employers to Malaysia. As more tech jobs come to Malaysia, we can improve salary levels, while companies have access to our diverse, quality talent.

Life is about perspective including our work life and career. About a month back, I had a chance to visit a Kelong (offshore platform or structure for fishing) and facilitated an interview session with migrant workers who runs the kelong. Through the conversation, I noted that their career journey and experience is so different from what I would normally hear at work in Singapore context. It was expected but nevertheless still full of refreshing insights. As with my past interactions with migrant workers, many a time, their career journey has been one driven first by sustenance (their main work value) for themselves and/or their families. To "progress" in their career journey, it is about grabbing limited opportunities when they present themselves, which often carries huge life changing risks. In comparison, career journey of a typical worker or professional in Singapore is driven by a multitude of work values depending on the life stage that we may be in. While sustenance is the base line, we may have additional work values or priorities depending our life stage. Opportunities wise, we would go for those that align with these specific values at these stages. That is how we would "progress" in my opinion. Perhaps, biggest takeaway for me is that every worker may have needs and values driving their career and it changes over time. Nevertheless we all want to progress ahead in our own little career journey. For me, that means every worker perspective matters, for us to strive towards better jobs for better lives. What about you? #everyworkermatters
