The Water Revolution Foundation's Yacht Environmental Transparency Index (YETI) and emission standards were central talking points at the Superyacht Forum during Metstrade. YETI introduces a data-driven tool to give a benchmark that aims to measure a yacht’s environmental footprint based on dozens of environmental factors, such as emissions, energy usage, and material impact. At the current rate the industry is likely to build another 5000 new vessels over the next 25 years. Cross-sector collaboration is no longer optional - regulation is coming and we need to be focusing on measurable, actionable solutions for new builds. If the yachting sector wants to shift in a positive direction, we believe YETI is a great catalyst for change.
