Jefferson Fisher Great video. I would add a few things: 1. When giving employees bad news, especially if it's a firing, direct and brief is always best. Most people drag it on forever when both parties usually know what's coming, and if the employee doesn't know what's coming, the situation was mishandled many days, weeks or months earlier. 2. Direct communication works best in person, and if not that way then by phone or video, followed by email or text. Not only do people hide behind LOL, but they hide behind their technology rather than having a face-to-face, direct conversation.

Super helpful tips Jeff! I'm so guilty of adding "lol" to the end of messages not to seem mean, so, this video hit the perfect target audience! (and yes I had to fight myself not to add it to the end of this very message)
