In light of the European Research and Innovation Days, I have co-authored two publications. The publications are key results of a comprehensive co-creation exercise with several colleagues of EU Science, Research and Innovation. They provide a rationale on why investing in research and innovation matters for Europe to strengthen EU's competitiveness, support a green and sustainable future, and build a fair European society. In anticipation of the 2025 research grants announcement… In 2024, 6,042 research proposals were received, with funding exceeding 800 million SAR—advancing research excellence and driving innovation to shape a sustainable future.

👨🎓 Last week, I had the pleasure to discuss the transformative power of #innovation in driving #sustainability with students from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology at EEMI - L'École Européenne des Métiers de l'Internet.✨ The key takeaways? #Technologies, both software and hardware, are not just tools but pivotal solutions and levers that can shift our behaviors and paradigms towards a more sustainable future. However, sustainability is a multidisciplinary challenge, demanding systemic and #criticalthinking. Technological innovation is at the cornerstone of our transition to sustainable practices. But it should thrive on a symbiosis with societal progress and natural solutions.
