So your org has a testing program, what is your ROI? How productive is it considering the potential? What is the current velocity compared to what it could be? How do you compare to others? A "program maturity audit" is a classic program management tool, meant to ask great questions to help find gaps in the efficiency or effectiveness of, in this case, experimentation programs. So what do you do with it in the end? It’s a conversation tool. It helps you structure your thoughts around decent sets of questions about experimentation ROI within your org. Think about where you are now (A), where you want to be in 6-12 months (B), and then identify drivers to get you from A to B. Then after 6-12 months take this survey again. That’s it mainly. As Product manager, we often do things don't want to admit. The post was totally relatable. And I'd like to add to the long list which I don't admit either ; 🔹Secretly Google Everything 🔍: Who needs a PM handbook when you have Google? From “How to manage stakeholder expectations” to “What is Agile (again)?”, we’ve all been there. 🙈 🔹Juggle Multiple Tasks 🤹: Simultaneously being in three meetings, answering emails, and managing team conflicts is our version of a normal day. 🔹Using Buzzwords 🗣️: “Synergy”, “Value-added”, “Paradigm shift” – you name it, we say it. When evaluating a product area or features and prioritizing with data, it can feel overwhelming. My go-to advice for Product Managers I coach is to first establish the altitude of the feature or product area they manage. What do I mean by altitude? It’s a structured approach we define for launching a feature, aligning with how we’ll analyze it and the goals our team fulfills. There are different types of altitude you can build: for the product area, for your manager, or for the solution. To keep this post engaging, let’s focus on building the altitude of the solution. Key elements to include are: 1. Solution description 2. Audience description 3. Audience size 4. Problem description 5. Problem frequency 6. Problem severity 7. Key actions users should do 8. The Business value my manager/area is after that I can impact through this solution 9. The Business value my team is after through this solution This clarity up front ensures a qualitative approach to analyzing the proposed solution and it structures the unknowns in an easy organized way. I like matching this approach with metric trees and a good structured event dictionary. How do you structure the knowledge/efforts in your organizations?
