This will be what the next generation of energy tracking looks like, and what will get us to fully decarbonized electricity supply globally. 24/7 Hourly Carbon Free tracking is a way to move beyond being Carbon free on a monthly or yearly basis (when there will be times of low renewable generation and thus some fossil fuels in the mix) based on intermittent renewables to a round the clock, continuous Carbon free energy supply that uses a mix of zero Carbon generation sources - renewables, storage, nuclear, and others - to ensure there is a continuous supply of Carbon free generation. This is tracked at an hourly level and supplied to customers with Hourly Certificates showing the source of the energy supply in any given hour. It creates the data transparency and incentives for each grid around the world to find the most cost optimal mix of zero Carbon generation to achieve continuous zero Carbon generation 24/7/365.
