One nurse shared how she used to feel terrified to admit mistakes, facing the fear and shame all alone. But through open conversations and understanding each other’s vulnerabilities, that overwhelming "dragon" of fear becomes much smaller. Knowing that your team stands beside you, whether it’s a challenging patient or a stressful situation, transforms the way we cope and care. By supporting each other, we can hold space for patients and their families, providing the compassion they need in their most vulnerable moments. In 2023, the Biden Administration’s Executive Order on Increasing Access to High-Quality Care and Supporting Caregivers recognized the shortage of direct support professionals (DSPs) as a crisis and directed federal agencies to collaborate to mitigate it. We want to help advocates engage the public about global-facing R&D Our new guide, published today, aims to support advocates who are communicating with broad public audiences about global-facing R&D – research that is conducted in the UK, but whose benefits may largely be felt outside the UK. CaSE believes that forging stronger connections with the public can build trust, and also help the R&D and development sectors secure the political support they need.
