Musk announced the Timing of Mass Production of Humanoid Robots. Tesla will use humanoid robots in 2025 and enter their mass production is possible by 2026, Elon Musk said on his personal page on the social network X. At first, there will be few such robots, since they will be intended for Tesla’s internal use. Mass production for other companies is planned to be launched by 2026. Interesting timing for the announcement... but my interest is peaked! I would definitely love to buy one of these to tinker with. I hope they make them self-repairable because I would love to customize one of these. Lastly, I would recommend open-sourcing as much software as possible for added trust. Third-party developers should be able to improve the software and manufacture components that are compatible so it is not depended on Tesla. AI robots should not be closed-sourced in my opinion, but this is a very interesting play.

In fact, Optimus has already started performing tasks autonomously, like handling batteries, in one of Tesla’s facilities, according to its earnings report.
