Sharing statistics about OCD is one thing, but images like these do far more to raise awareness. Like anything else, with OCD, there can be good days and bad days. After a string of good days, one family's daughter spent seven (7) hours cleaning herself in the bathroom. Client needs are changing, with many NDIS participants requiring more complex, individualised support than ever before. Individualised support is a great thing. But from an operational level, this shift requires NDIS providers to be highly adaptable, resourceful, and equipped with specialised knowledge. Which can often conflict with budget limitations. As we continue to raise awareness for DD Awareness Month, let's take a moment to understand the DD Waiver in Virginia. With over 30 services ranging from residential supports to benefits planning, the DD Waiver provides critical assistance to those with ID/DD diagnosis. Each service is tailored to meet specific needs in that life area, taking a person-centered approach to ensure individualized support. In Virginia, we practice Person-Centered Planning to develop comprehensive ISPs (Individual Service Plans) that allow providers to develop a Plan for Supports. As someone who reviews plans for all services, it's wonderful to see this methodology in action and the dedication of the team behind every ISP. Let's continue to prioritize individualized support and celebrate the hard work of those making dreams a reality.
