Do vacations make us more stressed? Research from the Netherlands found most people were not happier after a vacation. Why spend all the time, money, and energy if vacations do not have generate a return on investment? Data shows that there is no happiness gain after vacation if there was moderate to high travel-related stress. Stress involved with managing transportation, trying to deal with details while on the trip, unfamiliarity with the location, and lack of feeling safe all contributed to travelers feeling less happy and more stressed, and they had lower energy at work after the average vacation. But not all travel is equal. Could a less stressful trip result in higher happiness and energy at work? Is there a vacation from work that scientifically leads to greater levels of happiness and energy, and lower stress? Most of the holiday happiness is dependent upon the stress level of the vacation. Poorly planned and stressful vacations eliminate the positive benefit of time away. The less stress, the more likely you will experience a positive benefit from the time off. A positive, well-managed vacation can make you happier and less stressed and will see return to work energized. So instead of wanderlust-fueled, bucket list itineraries crammed with activities and experiences, travelers should consider shifting towards a more relaxed approach to vacationing where a minimum of decision making is needed. Whatever type of trip you plan for this summer, make sure to create a positive vacation so you can return recharged, less stressed, and happier. Enjoy your holidays! #HamletProtein #vacation #recharge

Why Vacations Are Important 1. There’s something to look forward to – We all prefer to have something planned on the horizon, even if it’s months from now. Having an upcoming vacation can help relieve the stress of work or a busy family life. 2. You’ll catch up on sleep – All vacations are different, but most getaways include many long overdue nights of uninterrupted sleep. You can finally sleep in for the first time in months! 3. Vacations offer new perspectives – Families and couples usually travel to new or exotic places. These locales often help broaden our horizons. You’ll meet new people, experience new cultures, and try new foods and activities. 4. You’ll return happier – This one is simple, yet some people still believe vacations are equally as stressful as everyday life. That’s why it’s important to know yourself. Some people are stressed without a detailed itinerary while others don’t like to be locked into a schedule. Do what makes you happy, and remember to try activities that everyone enjoys. 5. Vacations relieve stress – One of the main reasons why vacations are important is the fact that they significantly ease stress. If you’re vacationing correctly, there comes a perfect moment when you entirely forget about the workplace. 6. Vacations increase productivity – Proven data shows that vacations increase productivity. Happy, stressless, and energetic employees almost always produce a better product. There’s still going to be highs and lows, which is why it’s important to take periodic not overly lengthy vacations. 7. Vacations are good for the body and mind – People who periodically vacation are proven to have healthier hearts and mindsets. Stressless and happy people, not surprisingly, usually have stronger mental health and healthier bodies. ..................................................................................................... This is why you aren’t returning home refreshed from a vacation & what you need to do instead.👇 First let me share why this is so apparent to me... On my questionnaire to work with me one-on-one for trip planning, one of the questions is: “What would you like to get out of your next trip?” And one of the checkbox options is: “Rest and Mental Health” 100% of people have checked that box. Who DOESN’T want - or need - rest in this productivity obsessed world?? Even our kids are over-scheduled and need a break! Buuuttt then they share their plans of a whirlwind tour of Europe hitting 4 countries in 2 weeks. 😬 Here’s the thing, most of us <ahem, Americans> apply the same productivity-driven mindset to planning our vacations. ✅ We try to see it all. ✅ Squeeze it all in. ✅ Check as many things off our list as possible. This mentality is SO deeply engrained in us…and it doesn’t lend itself to relaxation, huh? No wonder why people return to work saying, “I need a vacation from my vacation!” 🙄 So what should you do instead to *actually* get the rest we so desperately need on vacation while also seeing and doing cool things? 🐌 SLOW DOWN & PRIORITIZE Think about your favorite travel memories for a minute. 👉 Were these planned or unplanned moments? 👉 What made it so memorable? I’m guessing many were unplanned, simple moments. And they were likely so special because of who you were with or being truly present in the moment. So instead of trying to “make the most” of a trip by packing our itinerary full, I remind my clients that… ❤️🔥 Less Scheduled —> More Spontaneity ❤️🔥 Less Complexity —> More Simplicity ❤️🔥 Less Doing —> More Serenity This doesn’t mean you can’t do the bucket list activities you dream of. 👉 What it DOES mean is being intentional with your priorities and aligning your time accordingly. And that’s exactly what my Intentional Family Travel Planner will help you get clear on. It steps you through 5 easy steps to schedule a year of soul-filled family adventures to strengthen bonds, even with a jam-packed calendar. ⬇️ Comment “Planner” to get a link with all the details! Share this to a friend or coworker that needs a real break. ❤️

Short on time but desperately in need of a getaway this Fall? Sometimes, all you have is a few days of PTO for a quick getaway to rest and recharge. But that doesn’t make your trip any less meaningful or easy to plan. In fact, I would argue that the shorter the trip, the more you’ll need some planning help because you have less time to make the most of your time away. Call me the queen of maximizing vacation time because that’s where I can help. Whether you’re planning a city adventure, a quick break to an all-inclusive, or a little wellness time to relax and reset, I’ll help you plan an itinerary that maximizes your time. Don’t let time be the thing that stops you from making the most of your vacation. Send me a DM so I can give you a list of hotspots for shorter trips. #VacationPlanning #TravelAgent #travelExpert #QuickGetawayHelp #MaximizeYourTime #ShortTripPlanning #VacationPlanning #DMmeForHotspots
