Sanofi, led by Paul Hudson CEO, continues to strengthen its presence in Latin America (LATAM) through a strategy focused on innovation, industrial expansion, and the adoption of advanced technologies. In LATAM, Sanofi operates key industrial sites, such as its facility in the State of Mexico, México, which produces essential medicines for the region and underscores the company's ongoing investment in local infrastructure.
Sanofi has reinforced its position in LATAM with a portfolio of flagship products, including Dupixent and Lantus, designed to address chronic inflammatory diseases and diabetes, respectively. In 2024, Dupixent’s global sales rose by 23.8%, and its growing presence in emerging markets like LATAM highlights Sanofi’s commitment to delivering innovative therapies.
The company has also solidified its vaccine portfolio, achieving a remarkable 25.5% increase in global vaccine sales. This growth was supported by enhanced production capacity for Beyfortus and reflects Sanofi's dedication to ensuring access to critical vaccines, including flu and pediatric immunizations, across LATAM.
Sanofi is at the forefront of healthcare innovation, embracing artificial intelligence (AI) and digital health technologies to enhance patient care and streamline operations. The company has formed strategic partnerships with entities such as OpenAI and Formation Bio to develop predictive models for advancing research and personalizing treatments.
In LATAM, these technologies are being leveraged to:
💉. Enhance Diagnostics: Using AI to identify patterns in prevalent chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes.
💉. Streamline Logistics: Employing big data analytics to forecast demand for medicines and vaccines across local markets.
💉. Empower Patients: Offering digital tools to help individuals better manage their treatments. Since becoming CEO, Paul has spearheaded a pipeline-focused transformation, prioritizing high-impact areas such as inflammatory diseases and cutting-edge vaccines. His leadership has also emphasized digitalization, aligning Sanofi’s global strategy with the unique needs of LATAM.
Paul Hudson has reiterated the company’s commitment to emerging markets, stating:
"Our ability to innovate and adopt cutting-edge technologies enables us to deliver next-generation treatments to patients worldwide, including those in Latin America."
With global sales reaching €13,438 million in Q3 2024 (+15.7% at constant exchange rates) and a 67% increase in revenue from newly launched medicines, Sanofi anticipates continued growth in LATAM. The region remains a strategic priority, driven by the expansion of its product portfolio and sustained investments in infrastructure.

"Disrupt or be Disrupted": it's not just a mantra; it's a survival strategy in the fast-paced digital jungle. Embrace change, challenge the status quo, and let innovation be your compass.
Attending the National Pharmaceutical Conference was amazing, yet again! The quality of the sessions was outstanding, but just as rewarding was the chance to reconnect with old friends and colleagues, sharing stories and ideas that remind us of the strength in our network.
Between the expert panels and the informal moments in between, the conference highlighted the impact of collaboration and shared knowledge. Excited to carry these new insights forward and see where these renewed connections will lead!
Here are my 3 key takeaways from the sessions:
1. AI & The Future of Human Health: A key takeaway on AI in healthcare is that its success depends on data quality—the old adage “Garbage In, Garbage Out” rings true. AI raises critical legal and ethical issues around inventorship, privacy (especially with cross-border data storage), and confidentiality, all of which demand strong safeguards. Balancing AI’s potential with these responsibilities is essential for ethical progress in healthcare.
2. Stand out: Standing out is more than just being seen; it’s about creating a meaningful impact that resonates with your audience.
3. Patient or profit centric? A controversial question we must consider is whether we are genuinely patient-centric or merely projecting a patient-centered image. This issue requires a deep, thoughtful look at how we define and measure success internally and where patient needs truly fit within our goals. Are we authentically putting patients first, or is it just a façade?

Ernest Hemingway famously said that people at first go bankrupt slowly, then all at once. When my father died during the dark days of the pandemic, it was his heart that failed at first slowly and then all at once. Or at least it seemed so to our distraught family.
It turns out that my dad's heart condition has been recently identified as one of those common ailments that can be effectively fought using varied data sources from #wereables and #implantables. Such data must be collected, cleaned and annotated appropriately -that is another major challenge for public and private medical institutions and #digitalhealth companies- in order to be effectively leveraged.
#AI and #bigdata are already playing a fundamental role in our health systems, and the sky is the only limit..well, almost the only one, as compliance with the ever enlarging body of digital legislation in the #EU and elsewhere is also paramount.
We are truly excited to sponsor this event.
