“We don’t rise to the level of our goals, but fall to the level of our systems” Earlier this year to kick start my weight loss journey, I read Atomic Habits by James Clear and it’s safe to say this book has been an absolute game changer for me!! One of the biggest takeaways is the concept that small, incremental changes can lead to massive results over time. The idea of focusing on systems rather than goals flicked a switch for me. Instead of getting overwhelmed by big targets, I’ve started to break things down into manageable, daily habits. In my role as an SDR, this shift in mindset has been incredibly transformative. Here’s how I’ve applied these principles: 🔸 The 1% Rule (Kaizen): Every day I aim to improve just 1% in areas like outreach, follow-up and building rapport with prospects, as well as running an extra 100m or doing an extra rep in the gym. It’s amazing how these small, consistent efforts compound over time! 🔸 Habit Stacking: I’ve started to build new habits by attaching them to existing ones. After my morning workout/stretch, I head straight into my shower + skincare routine followed by making a daily goal list. This sequence keeps me energised and focused, making sure I’m ready to tackle the day with a clear plan. 🔸 The Power of Environment: Clear emphasises the importance of designing your environment to make good habits easier and bad habits harder. I’ve applied this by optimising my workspace for productivity, keeping distractions at bay and surrounding myself with tools that keep me on track. If you surround yourself with distractions and temptations, you’re going to eventually give in to them.. so just don’t! These habits have also had an impact on my personal life, particularly in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and managing my time effectively. The idea that every action you take is a vote for the type of person you want to become has motivated me to make choices that align with the person I want to be. It taught me that success isn’t about radical changes but about making small, consistent improvements. It’s about showing up every day, putting in the work and trusting the process. Have you read this book? What did you think of it?? Or if you have any other recommendations, fire away 📚 #AtomicHabits #PersonalGrowth #MindsetMatters #SDRLife #ContinuousImprovement

"The best way to accelerate growth is to embrace, seek, and amplify discomfort." - Adam Grant I often seek out new experiences that may not be comfortable, and so preparing for my first Petcha Kutcha talk in Joburg next month has been quite the stretch. A professional speaker friend warned me it's one tough gig! As a creative procrastinator, the discomfort of not feeling fully prepared, even when there is plenty of time, can be intense. Yet, I've found that procrastination sparks my brain into action, even if it's a bit uncomfortable. However, even in diligently avoiding procrastination, discomfort persists. Adam Grant writes that procrastination isn't about avoiding effort, but about dodging discomfort. As I dive into prepping, discomfort grows - slides undecided, script evolving, and the fear of forgetting or failing is real. But amidst the discomfort, I console myself: I'll complete my objective and deliver the best talk I can. Fear becomes an ally in growth and the discomfort is there to guide me home. So, by occasionally procrastinating, I inadvertently accelerate my growth. ------ Any Petcha Kutcha tips are welcome! 😀 🙏 My talk is called: "Extending Your Mind: Upgrading our human software in a technological era." If you are in Joburg and curious to check out a Petcha Kutcha evening, please come along, its going to be fun! I'll be talking alongside nine other people. The ones who need a little more time to wake up, go through their morning routine, and maybe even hit the snooze button a few times. They may not be as bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as the morning people, but they still manage to get things done. Some people have a specific morning routine that they stick to religiously. I added these 5 habits and it helped me double my productivity..... It’s easy to blame lack of motivation or time for missing your targets. I did it too. But then I realized—success starts before I even pick up the phone. After adopting the principles of The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod, I transformed my entire day by simply changing my mornings. Here are the 5 habits that skyrocketed my productivity and sales numbers: 1. Start With Silence No phone, no emails, no distractions. Just a few minutes of deep breathing or meditation to focus my mind and reduce the overwhelm before the day begins. 2. Affirm Success I make sure my first words to myself are positive affirmations. Phrases like “I’m closing deals today” or “I bring value to every conversation” pump me up to face the day's challenges. 3. Visualize Your Day I mentally walk through my sales calls and meetings, envisioning how I want them to go. Visualization gives me a sense of control and sets the tone for success. 4. Move Your Body Even 10 minutes of stretching or light exercise changes my energy levels. It doesn’t have to be intense—just enough to wake me up and get me moving. 5. Feed Your Mind Instead of mindlessly scrolling through social media, I read something valuable. It could be a chapter from a book or a quick article—anything that gets me in the right headspace for growth. By incorporating these habits, I didn’t just double my cold calls—I improved the quality of my interactions and started closing more deals. If you’re serious about leveling up your work performance, don’t wait till noon to get into gear. Start with your mornings, and watch how your entire day shifts. What’s one morning habit you can add starting tomorrow? Let’s chat below 👇 #Sales #MorningRoutine #Productivity #ColdCalling #SalesHabits #GrowthMindset

Let’s all admit it – we’ve been there, mindlessly scrolling through distractions instead of focusing on important tasks. But we can change that! I used to lose hours to aimless activities until I realised the value of my time. Now, I prioritise activities that truly benefit my growth: - Meditating and gratitude practice. - Exercise and outdoor activities. - Engaging in creative projects. These habits help me stay sharp and deliver top-notch client work. Remember, you have the power to eliminate distractions: - Turn off the news. - Limit social media scrolling. - Break the cycle of repetitive conversations. Take charge of your focus and watch your productivity soar! #Productivity #Focus #GrowthMindset

Welcome to Monday Mindset, where every Monday we dedicate time to nurturing your most powerful asset: your mind. Let's explore what affirmations of a business leader look like and why dedicating just 5 minutes of every day to them is crucial for cultivating a growth mindset. Affirmations are statements that reflect your goals, values, and aspirations, designed to instil confidence, focus, and positivity. Here is an example of my own: "I am happy, healthy, successful, and content." "I lead a flourishing business with confidence and purpose." "Customers choose our services over the competition for our exceptional value and quality." "My leadership drives our business to generate over £1M in revenue annually." "I understand that marketing and sales are our lifeblood, and I focus our efforts accordingly." "I have a clear vision of our company's trajectory and the leader I need to become." "I have unwavering faith in my ability to fulfil our mission." "I commit to extraordinary effort every day to propel our business forward." "I prioritise self-care, maintaining balance in my personal and professional life." "I am grateful for all that I have and for the opportunities that come my way." Remember, when reciting affirmations, it's essential to feel each statement deeply to inspire and motivate yourself. Consistency is key—write them down, record them, and share them with others. Your affirmations may evolve as you grow, so revisit and adjust them accordingly. As for me, I dedicate 5 days a week, during my walk home from dropping off the children at school, to recite my affirmations. Don't overthink it—connect with your emotions, and then commit them to paper. Let your affirmations guide you towards success in both your professional and personal life. Do you recite affirmations? How have they improved your mindset?
