From Job to Freelancing: My Unexpected Discovery of Self-Discipline 🎬 In February 2024, I transitioned from the structured world of a full-time job to the flexibility of freelancing. 🌟 While freelancing offers the freedom and flexibility I need for a healthier lifestyle, it also comes with its own set of challenges. 💪 In a job, you have set hours, clear deadlines, and a team to keep you accountable. But as a freelancer, it’s all on you! 🚀 Sure, the freedom is amazing, but staying focused and productive takes a lot more effort than I imagined, especially when it comes to balancing work and personal life. 🕒 Slowly but steadily, I’ve developed a disciplined routine that includes well-planned morning and evening rituals, fixed working hours, clear boundaries between work and personal life, and saying "No" to non-urgent personal tasks during work hours and vice versa. 🗓️🛠️ There’s no limit to what one can achieve as a freelancer once they master the art of discipline. 🌟 Kudos to all the freelancers out there! 👏 #FreelanceLife #WorkLifeBalance #SelfDiscipline #CareerGrowth

2 months back, I didn't know if I should freelance or take up another full-time job. I chose freelancing, and I have zero regrets. Here’s why: 1️⃣ Freedom to choose the brands I work with: I get to work on projects that truly excite me, and I’ve learned so much in just a short time. 2️⃣ The instability is real, but so are the rewards: I wasn’t sure what to expect, but 2 months later, I’m already earning more than I did in my full-time job. 3️⃣ Flexibility in schedule: While I’ve always had remote work flexibility, freelancing has given me more control over my time. 4️⃣ Personal growth: It has definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone, challenging me to manage clients while also learning how to market myself. 5️⃣ Work-life balance: Planning a wedding and managing work is not easy, but freelancing has given me more room to actually enjoy the process without feeling overwhelmed. Freelancing might not be for everyone, but for me, it’s proving to be the right decision!

Why did you start freelancing? And did the reason you started come to fruition? I started freelancing so I could earn more and work less. Did it come true? yes. 10% less working annually. 25% higher earnings annually. But I still work more than I imagined. With a horrendous market ever since I started really (6 months pre-COVID), I've never been confident in opportunities sticking around and have worked probably more than I would've liked in the same period as having two children. I'm fortunate to do so, but that whole flexibility thing hasn't been around much in my freelance career because, thankfully, I've always lined up work. Because what if it all disappears? The constant freelance fear. Did your expectations follow through? #freelance #flexibility #goals

🌟 Embracing Freedom and Flexibility as a Freelancer 🌟 15 months into freelancing and I'm still marveling at the freedom it brings! Gone are the rigid 9-to-5 confines—I now craft my days like a maestro. Mornings and evenings are reserved for my freelance hustle, while the daytime is sacred for family adventures and tackling projects with a fresh perspective. Who knew work-life balance could feel this empowering? 🕒👨💻👶 But let's be real: embracing this flexibility wasn't always easy. It meant stepping out of my comfort zone and learning to juggle client deadlines with diaper changes (sometimes simultaneously, I must admit! 🤹♂️). Yet, with each challenge, I've grown more confident in my abilities and more adept at balancing the demands of work and home life. As a relative newcomer to freelancing, every day is a new lesson. From mastering the art of LinkedIn connections to boldly reaching out to potential collaborators, I'm continually honing my skills and expanding my network. What has been your biggest lesson in freelancing so far? Let's swap stories and celebrate the joys (and occasional chaos) of freelancing together! 🚀💬 #FreelanceLife #WorkLifeBalance #NewbieFreelancer #FamilyFirst

Why You Shouldn't Freelance 🎌 I’ve been freelancing for almost 3 years and it’s worked out for me. Seeing me, some friends of mine joined the freelance world too. While freelancing has its perks—flexibility, remote work, and autonomy—it's not for everyone. Here’s why: 1. It's Not Easy Money 💸🤑: If you think freelancing means easy cash for minimal effort, think again. Success requires dedication, communication, and often more hours than a 9-5. 2. Communication Skills are Crucial 😷: Poor communication can lose clients fast. You need to be clear, responsive, and proactive. 3. Inconsistent Payments 💰: Forget regular paychecks. Delayed payments are common, and no matter how organized you are, it’s a hassle. 4. Loan Difficulties 🏦: Need a loan? Banks often won’t lend to freelancers unless your business is officially registered. 5. Risk of Inconsistency ⚡: Clients can ghost you, back out, or stop paying. Always look for new clients while keeping current ones happy. 6. Working Alone 💂: If you thrive in a busy office, freelancing might be tough. You must be disciplined and self-motivated. Despite these challenges, freelancing offers immense learning opportunities and flexibility. Weigh the pros and cons before diving in. What do you think? Let me know in the comments! 💭 #freelance #freelancedesigner
