18 kWh of 'What the Heck?' Generac's New Battery Has Me Scratching My Head Generac just dropped a bombshell on the home energy market. But is it enough to revolutionize how we power our homes? 🏠⚡ The new PWRcell 2 series isn't just another battery - it's a peek into the future of residential energy. Here's why it matters: 1️⃣ Power that packs a punch: • 18 kWh capacity in a single cabinet • 10-11.5 kW continuous power (enough to start a 5-ton A/C!) 2️⃣ Smarter than your average battery: • Seamless integration with generators for extended outages • Native ecobee thermostat integration for energy optimization 3️⃣ Flexibility for the win: • Works standalone or as part of a broader energy ecosystem • Designed to play nice with other Generac products But here's the million-dollar question: Is this the tipping point for mass adoption of home energy storage? 🤔 The optimist in me sees: • A path to true energy independence for homeowners • Increased grid resilience through distributed storage • Accelerated integration of renewable energy sources The pragmatist wonders: • Will costs come down fast enough for widespread adoption? • How will utilities adapt to this new paradigm? • Are we prepared for the installation and maintenance challenges? One thing's clear: The line between "home" and "power plant" is blurring fast. What's your take? Will products like PWRcell 2 fundamentally change our relationship with energy? Or is this just another step in a long evolution? Let's brainstorm: How could your business leverage this trend towards smarter, more resilient home energy systems? #HomeEnergyRevolution #CleanTechInnovation #GridResilience #ElectrificationEra

The world of energy is evolving rapidly. On the supply side, both wind and the sun are being put to good use, while in consumption, more and more homes and cars are 100% powered by electricity. These changes are making it harder for distribution companies to keep the energy mix (production and consumption) in balance. By installing a smart automation system like Niko Home Control, you will not only save energy and reduce bills, it also helps you optimise your energy efficiency. The first step in good energy management is to be well informed as to how much electricity you use or produce. Niko Home Control makes it easy to get detailed insights into where your energy comes from and what it is used for, and then uses this data to optimise your energy efficiency. A Virtual Power Plant (VPP) is a network of decentralised power-generating sources, like solar panels, that work together to produce and manage energy. By connecting these sources through smart technology, a virtual power plant can generate electricity more efficiently and sustainably. Plus, it's a great way to support renewable energy and reduce your carbon footprint. You might be wondering how you can joing a VPP? Well when you have a home battery installed by our BTS team we can help connect you to the @Evergen platform. This app helps optimise your home battery energy and connects you to a VPP. This puts energy storage, sharing and trading all into your hands making it easy and convenient for you to sell your energy at the best rate. Find out more about our home battery systems and VPPs by visiting out website and for all installation enquiries call 1300 319 419. https://lnkd.in/esbFpAj #BrooklynTradeServices #BTS #energy #electricity #security #electrical #supportlocal #supportsmallbusiness #solar #solarenergy #solarpanels #solarpower #homebattery #batteries #invest #investing #home #renovating #VPP #VirtualPowerPlant #Power #Evergen #Apps #Storage #connecting #sharing #trading

New option for residential designs from a well established company known for providing backup power for industry. I imagine multi family buildings will have an easier economic justification first but this could trickle down to larger homes. I personally don’t like the maintenance of generators (minimum test once a month) preferring a larger battery with a solarator - solar powered generator. More traditional fossil fuel generators are cheaper but have noise, air quality, and maintenance issues. This evolution is a step in the right direction. I think this would appeal more to folks with existing investments. New residential backup buyers will choose an all-in-one solution to minimize space though the ability to tap into solar (and possibly silent vertical wind turbines) complement renewable investments.
