𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 🌱🌍 With the launch of a new Impact Framework, Innovation Fund Denmark aims to support AgriFoodTure and the other three Danish mission partnerships in utilizing continuous learning to adapt their strategies, document progress, and clarify how the missions contribute to the green transition. In AgriFoodTure, Mission Director Anette Engelund Friis is excited to start working with the new framework. “With the new framework, we gain an even better foundation to gather new knowledge and insights and apply this learning in strategic decisions to drive our mission forward. In AgriFoodTure, we will, in the coming period, develop our own framework based on Innovation Fund Denmark’s approach, tailored to our sector and our mission to accelerate the green transition of the agri-food sector,” says Anette Engelund Friis. The Impact Framework was launched at Innovation Fund Denmark’s Mission Conference on November 25 in Copenhagen. At the conference, the four green mission partnerships also met with the Fund’s Mission International Advisory Board to discuss how to best create and document impact. #greentransition #climateaction #innovation

Iona Thomas hosted positive discussions between AgriZeroNZ and an Innovate UK delegation on how UK & New Zealand innovators can collaborate to accelerate new tools to reduce agricultural emissions. AgriZeroNZ is a world-first partnership between the New Zealand government and major agribusiness companies to rapidly reduce emissions, and the UK delegation gained the benefit of insight from this Kiwi organisation with a global perspective. #Agritech is a rapidly growing sector, and teams from both countries see the efficiency and profitability gains in commercialising new technologies for uptake on-farm. Agritech is one of 5 priority themes in the UK / NZ Science Work Programme, and the UK in New Zealand policy, trade, climate change and science teams have worked for many years in this important cooperation theme, so it's amazing to see promising UK / NZ collaborations start to scale. Looking forward to sharing new success stories in 2025! Thanks to Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office - Research, Science and Innovation and Department for Science, Innovation and Technology for supporting these discussions. #agriculture #netzero #innovation #internationalrelations #sciencediplomacy

I took the audience behind the scenes to explore the powerful role of behavioral science in driving social change and ensuring that community-led innovations are truly co-created and inclusive. Today, I participated in a panel on how community-led innovations, driven by frugal, sustainable practices, can transform agrifood systems in Europe and Central Asia. The focus is, of course, on placing farmers and communities at the heart of innovation. Aidai Anarbek and Anne-Sophie Poisot shared experience of placing farmers and communities at the heart of innovation through innovative approaches such as #FarmerFieldSchools (FFS) and #LivingLabs. Sietze Vellema presented the case from Kenya on frugality and inclusion and the research done by Wageningen University & Research, Nevena Alexandrova shared developments on Innovative policy and institutional approaches - #InnovationPolicylabs. But what’s behind these successes? I explored the importance of co-design and participation, ensuring that community members are active participants in creating solutions. Traditional top-down interventions often miss the mark because they don’t consider local customs, practices, or barriers. It is by leveraging local knowledge, addressing power dynamics, and focusing on iterative testing that we can create scalable, effective innovations that are truly inclusive and community-driven. I also introduced practical frameworks, such as #EAST(Easy, Attractive, Social, Timely) and #COM-B (Capability, Opportunity, Motivation – Behavior), which help to diagnose behavioral barriers and make adopting new practices easier. In essence, the key to frugal, inclusive agrifood innovation lies in empowering communities through tailored, behaviorally driven interventions. Let's aim for more of thoseE Congratulations with a successful event! 👏 👨🌾 🤝 Anna Kanshieva, Ph.D. @Santivanez Tania Tímea Abueisa Valentina Gasbarri Raimund Jehle Vincent Martin

📢 Will the Netherlands Capitalize on the Potential Goldmine of Food Scale-Ups? 🗣 Leading players in the Dutch agrifood sector, including StartLife, are calling on the Dutch Cabinet to level the playing field for food scale-ups. These innovators are pivotal in maintaining the Netherlands' global leadership in sustainable agriculture but face a significant funding gap compared to their international peers. 💪 While Dutch scale-ups like revyve and OneThird are pushing the boundaries of sustainability, they are hindered by slower funding growth, often driving them to seek capital abroad. This not only risks moving production overseas but also weakens the Netherlands' economic stance. 💰 A proposed €200 million in additional public funding could change the game, encouraging local growth and attracting private investment. It’s time to support our scale-ups and secure our agrifood future! 📰 Read the full urgent letter here: https://lnkd.in/eijCiitd Foodvalley NL, PeakBridge, Oost NL, Wageningen University & Research, The Yield Lab, SHIFT Invest, Future Food Fund
