Thanksgiving abroad can feel awkward... Many of us are used to celebrating with family and friends or at least having a significant amount of time off. But when you live abroad, you often don't have any time off work, the kids are still in school, and it feels less and less like a holiday. As someone who has celebrated Thanksgiving for the last 15 years overseas, here's some friendly advice on how to make it feel more like a holiday: 👉 Don't hesitate to celebrate on the Saturday. If the point is being around family and friends, why does it matter if you eat turkey on a certain day of the week? 👉 Take some time to find your favorite holiday foods. It's possible! Don't give up just because you are in a foreign country and assume you can't find them. 👉 Don't be afraid to make new traditions that fit your new schedule. If you can't watch the Lions play on Thursday, start a new tradition that accommodates a Thanksgiving schedule abroad! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating back home and overseas! #americanabroad #expatlife #thanksgiving #traditions

Every year around this time, family and friends gather together to celebrate Thanksgiving. It's also around this time where people slow down and reflect on exactly what brings them the most gratitude. While I prepare to celebrate one of my favorite holidays, I want to share three of life's most valuable treasures which we can all be grateful for this year. You can read all about it in my article below: https://lnkd.in/eGZknknQ

Taking time off is essential—not only to recharge and stay effective in the workplace 💼 but also as a reminder to appreciate the people who support us on our professional journeys. I'm deeply grateful to have had the last few days to reflect, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy the holiday season 🍂. It's easy to get caught up in the professional demands of the present and past, but moments like these, coupled with a little mandatory time off (thank you, Matthew Wade & Aionios LLC!), provide an opportunity to pause and recognize what truly matters: the people, the connections 🤝, and the balance we strive for every day ⚖️. Our work is important. It fuels us financially, personally, and sometimes even creatively. But balance is key. With the right approach, we can nurture both our personal and professional lives—and yes, we really can have our cake and eat it too. Here's to gratitude, balance, and making time for what matters most 🌟. #Family #WorkLifeBalance #Hiring #Grateful #Opportunities
✨ 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸! ✨ After a few days of rest and reflection, we’re back and feeling grateful. 🍂💛 Thanksgiving gave us the chance to step away, reconnect with loved ones, and remind ourselves of what truly matters—family, friends, and those incredible friends who’ve turned into family. Some days it is difficult to notice or remember all the wonderful things that we have going for us. It often takes holidays like Thanksgiving that give us pause for reflection. Perhaps it’s because we find ourselves supping with family and friends, who serve as reminders of what is truly deserving of our focus and energy. And, as we recover from Thanksgiving weekend festivities, challenge yourself to be grateful the other 364 days of the year. Practice gratitude with intention. Share with others what and who you’re thankful for. Take action to create a positive environment that will encourage gratitude. Start by simply asking yourself what you are grateful for! 🤔

🐣 What is Easter to me? A time to reflect on renewal and growth 🌱 Today we were done with our dailies quickly because Germany is already out for their holiday break, so half of my teams were absent. We had a bit of time to talk about Easter traditions in Croatia, Bosnia, Poland, and Italy. It made me reflect on what this holiday actually means to me, a not religious person. This year for sure it means finally catching a breath after working in crunch mode for several weeks. I am really looking forward to having this one extra day added to the weekend 😌 But it’s more than that: for me it has always been a time to reflect on renewal and growth 🤔 👉 Am I headed in the right direction? 👉 What could be a next step in my personal development? 👉 What about my Teams and our product? How can we breathe new energy into our collaboration? 👉 Are there skills or strengths we have not fully explored and leveraged? First ideas are already coming, and I am looking forward to sharing them with my colleagues next week… 🧘♀️ But for now, let’s take some deep breaths and relax. Happy Easter to everyone in my network! 👉 Are you celebrating Easter? What does this holiday mean to you? #easter #renewal #growth
