The rainy season presents unique challenges and opportunities for goat farmers. Effective management during this period ensures the health & productivity of your herd. During this season, farmers should need to ensure proper well-ventilated & dry shelters to prevent respiratory issues, provide balanced & high-quality feed, implement de-worming & vaccination schedule to protect against common rainy-season diseases, avoid overgrazing wet pastures to prevent soil erosion & health issues and keep hooves trimmed to prevent foot rot and other hoof-related problems. Embracing these practices will help ensure your goats remain healthy and productive throughout the rainy season. Good article on backgroud behind the National Drought Monitor, policy, and folks impacted. My heart goes out to farmers impacted by droughts and other climatic events and I have been there when my family farmed. Hopefully the policy side can be fine tuned to help farmers. Overall, the National Drought Monitor provides good data for numerous stakeholders for many applications. https://lnkd.in/g2PpSYcg
