Passing 100 Days in My New Role ✈️ Now it’s a great moment to pause and reflect as well as to look what comes next. My time so far as a Managing Director of Oscar Bravo has been remarkable. Honestly, it was better than many flights with “classic” airlines. And here is why: 🪩 A crew with heart: Friendly, dynamic, highly motivated, and always with a smile on their faces. At the same time, they were extremely professional and safety-conscious – this is what truly makes a difference. 🪩 Culinary highlights: Delicious food onboard and an amazing welcome cocktail that set the perfect tone for the journey. 🪩 Miles & More Benefits in the spotlight: As a former Miles & More GmbH employee, I was particularly happy to hear onboard announcements highlighting the benefits of the program. 🤘🏼 🪩 #TravelID integration: What impressed me the most was Discover Airlines’ integration of the Travel ID into the check-in process. It’s a fantastic product that finally gets the appreciation it deserves. Well done, Discover colleagues! Disco shows what modern service, customer focus and genuine appreciation for travelers can look like. I’m thrilled by this fresh approach, proving that flying doesn’t have to be just a means to an end but can be an experience in itself. AirAsia has consistently elevated my travel experiences, and it definitely fuels my belief of mini retirement lifestyle. 🥰 🛫 User-Friendly System: Alright, I have to say that at the beginning, AVA wasn't great at handling customers' issues, and at times, I was frustrated with the lack of interaction from customer service. However, AirAsia's continuous efforts to improve have made their online platform a smooth and intuitive booking process eventually and they do have the insight to transform the e-services. 🎉 Exciting Promotions: Their enticing deals and promotions make air travel more accessible and affordable for everyone, opening up a world of possibilities for budget-conscious travelers like myself. 💼 Customizable Options: With the flexibility to tailor my bookings to my needs, such as selecting preferred seats or adding baggage allowances, I feel empowered to create the perfect travel experience for each journey. 🚀 Innovation: AirAsia's commitment to staying ahead of the curve by implementing cutting-edge technology and continuously enhancing their offerings demonstrates their dedication to providing the best possible service for their customers. More good news for our city's tech ecosystem! International Airlines Group (IAG) chooses #Barcelona (Viladecans) to open an Artificial Intelligence lab which will employ 150 engineers IAG is one of the world's largest airline groups. It is the parent company of British Airways, Iberia, Vueling Airlines, Aer Lingus, LEVEL, IAG Loyalty and IAG Cargo.    This new tech hub will be operational in 2 weeks with 70 engineers and the company plans to hire 150 professionals in a year. The Barcelonian hub will develop research and tools to enhance the operations and efficiency of the group's airlines. IAG's activity in 2023 contributed more than €6 billion to GDP and supported the generation of more than 81,000 jobs in Catalonia, according to a study conducted by the consultancy firm PwC. These figures mean that IAG's activity generates added value equivalent to 2.1% of Catalan GDP and 2.3% of full-time employment. https://lnkd.in/dTtpXJxu

✈️ Torn Between Two Minds About Ryanair ✈️ On one hand, I can't help but cringe at Ryanair's poor service, the cramped seats, and the overall lack of comfort. 🥴 The no-frills experience can be jarring. But on the other hand, there's no denying that Ryanair has revolutionized mobility across Europe, making travel accessible. 🌍✈️ From a coaching perspective, there's something to be said about the no-nonsense approach of its founder, Michael O'Leary. His unapologetic focus on cost-cutting and efficiency has its lessons: Clear Vision and Focus: O'Leary's laser focus on low costs has allowed Ryanair to thrive in a competitive market. As professionals, staying true to our core values and objectives can help us navigate challenges effectively. Resilience: Despite criticisms and setbacks, Ryanair continues to grow. This is a powerful reminder to persevere through tough times. Innovation: By breaking traditional aviation norms, Ryanair has shown that innovation often requires challenging the status quo and taking bold risks. Customer Perspective: While service quality might not be Ryanair’s strength, understanding what the customer values most (affordable travel) has been key to their success. In coaching, understanding and prioritizing clients' needs is crucial. So, while I might be in two minds about Ryanair's service, I can't ignore the lessons from its journey.
