There's free parking in most of our car parks in Aldershot, Farnborough and North Camp every Sunday from this weekend until Christmas. The offer covers all council-owned car parks except for Union Street East and Union Street West in Farnborough. You’ll be able to park for free on 8, 15 and 22 December. It does not apply to on-street parking or privately-owned car parks. If in any doubt, please check for signs on the payment machines. The ground floor of the Aldershot High Street multi-story car park will not be open on Sundays because of our weekly car boot sale, but all other floors will be free to use. Quite interesting to watch the pople for a good reason being unhappy about these sharing bikes which are unorganized parking, resting in the pedestrian space. Blocking space for pedestrians to pass, especially the ones with children trolleys, wheel chairs and senior walking aids! But when you check out the Video do you see all these cars, and how much space they are taking up? This seems to be accepted - even their use is very limited and the space taken extreme! Lets build public parking and charging infrastructure for LEVs on former car parking spaces and of course cut the car parking space in cities dramatically and make more space for pedestrians, children play grounds, benches for anyone free to use, more greenery and space for safe cycling. Is it any wonder Sydneysiders are fed up with the bike share system being out of control in our city? Bikes are routinely left in inconvenient places making them a hazard for pedestrians and others. This example at Pitt Street near King Street is just one of many similar situations. City streets should not be turned into obstacle courses. It’s a failure of the bike share operators and the regulatory system that allows this to happen. Premier Chris Minns has also clearly had enough and has made sorting out the bike share issue a priority. And he’s being supported in this by Lord Mayor Clover Moore AO. We look forward to them sorting out the issue because share bikes can be an innovative and valuable addition to our city if it’s done the right way. We want to see them succeed as they’ve done in other global cities. 🚙 FREE Parking in Sutton Coldfield for Christmas! There will be FREE car parking in all Sutton Coldfield town centre car parks owned by Birmingham City Council this Christmas. The seven car parks are: -Station Street -Upper Reddicroft -Lower Reddicroft -Mill Street -Anchorage Road -South Parade -Duke Street *Please note private car park operators Newhall Walk and Gracechurch Centre car parks are not included. The FREE parking will be between 14th November 2024 and 5th January 2025 from Thursdays to Sundays. Thursdays and Fridays: free from 4pm onwards.
