As part of Antisocial Behaviour Week this week, we will have a stall at the market in Farnborough town centre tomorrow (Tuesday) from 11-1pm, and at the market in Aldershot town centre on Thursday, from 11-1pm, where officers will be available to chat about antisocial behaviour or community safety issues. We are supporting national Antisocial Behaviour Week as part of our commitment to make sure residents have clean, safe and vibrant neighbourhoods. Antisocial behaviour is any act that causes, or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to someone, and that can be through various ways, from neighbourhood disputes and noise to parking or street drinking. The overarching theme for the week is #MakingCommunitiesSafer.

The impact of ASB can be considerable. Building trust and working in partnership are key to resolution.
It's ASB Awareness Week and we've been speaking with Bernicia tenant Joanne about her story of how she and her neighbours in Hartlepool worked with our Safer Communities Team to tackle anti-social behaviour blighting their lives. Our Safer Communities Officer Nigel Dowd - pictured with Joanne - worked closely with her and the local community to successfully tackle the problems blighting their lives. As Joanne says: "It was awful, I was getting no sleep. I was ill, I lost weight, it was horrible. "I phoned the Bernicia number and spoke to a very nice lady and then Nigel called me back. "And from that day on me and Nigel have been working to make things better." Nigel said: "It was a case of letting Joanne know that there was somebody there, there was somebody listening and because of her proactivity we were really able to help her." 🌟 Today, on Anti-Bullying Awareness Day in Canada, let's stand together to foster #kindness, #empathy, and #inclusivity in our communities. Observed annually, #PinkShirtDay is a global movement that symbolizes our collective stand against bullying. It is a day to show our support for those who have been bullied, declare our commitment to a safe and respectful workplace, and remind ourselves of the strength of kindness and solidarity. #Bullying has no place in our #schools, #workplaces, or online spaces. It's up to each of us to take a stand and create a culture of #respect and #acceptance. As we recognize this important day, let's pledge to: 🤝 Support those who are experiencing bullying and offer a listening ear. 📚 Educate ourselves and others on the impact of bullying and how to prevent it. 🌈 Celebrate our differences and promote diversity and inclusion. 🔍 Stay vigilant online and report any instances of cyberbullying. Together, we can make a difference and create a world where everyone feels safe, valued, and #respected. #AntiBullyingAwareness #KindnessMatters

At Community Alcohol Partnerships, we believe that involving young people in decision-making is crucial to addressing the root causes of anti-social behaviour. We work with young people to understand their needs and aspirations, and to co-create solutions that truly make a difference. By giving young people a voice, we're empowering them to make better choices and create safer communities. #MakingCommunitiesSafer #ASBAwarenessWeek
