Thrilled to share the findings from my dissertation on storytelling in spatial narratives! This research explores Nigel Coates' narrative styles—binary, sequence, and biotopic—and their impact on architectural design. By analyzing three postmodern museums, I examined how these storytelling techniques enhance the spatial experience, making designs more meaningful and memorable. Storytelling is a powerful tool, not just in literature, but in shaping the way we interact with spaces. #Dissertation #Architecture #NarrativeArchitecture #StorytellingInDesign #SpatialNarratives #PostmodernArchitecture #NigelCoates https://lnkd.in/gnj4zvdb

I started online teaching some three years ago and over a time i have developed so much interest in teaching architecture subjects, especially, ARCHITECTURE DESIGN. Listening to these fresh minds who are going to enter the main field soon, getting them ready for it, giving them practical approach, their enthusiasm etc gives me an immense satisfaction. Above all, in my experience, you think you are teaching them but i believe you end up learning. 🙂 #teachingandlearning #onlineteaching #teaching #architecturedesign

By word of mouth, I have worked with some of you in #publishing your #architectural_projects. By word of mouth, I have come to know that some of you are looking for an #architectural_writer. Let's take the next step together. I propose to write, thereby articulate your design, #document, and publish so that your projects get the #visibility they deserve. Word of mouth does not travel as fast and wide as published content. Let’s #collaborate and publish. Problem and Example: The Nine-Square and The Cooper Union Foundation Building Transformation Happy to share the English translation of the article. Keywords: John Hejduk; structure; analysis; pedagogy; architectural design. ABSTRACT Teaching by example is a fundamental aspect of John Hejduk’s pedagogical strategy. Without further explanations, Hejduk relates his project for the interior transformation of The Cooper Union Foundation Building to the Nine-Square problem. It is a singular case because the building, home of the School of Architecture, presents to its students an example of the problem used at the school (1964-1978) to introduce the discipline itself . With archival information and references from people that were part of the school at that time —John Hejduk, Peter Eisenman, Rafael Moneo, and Lorna McNeur— the article identifies that both problem and example share the same structure and defines a method to relate them: to use the Nine-Square as an analytical tool applying the concepts of center-periphery, fluidity-containment, and structure-parts.* The paper outcome led to an understanding of the problem’s analytical content in relation to the architect’s tools: the passage from plan to section in relation to the concepts of space and time. https://lnkd.in/dYvHWzVb

I've always been hesitant to engage on LinkedIn, worrying I wouldn't reach enough people. But as I enter my thesis year for my Master’s in Architecture, I’m eager to explore new trends and perspectives. So why not start posting? 🙂 Recently, my lecturer asked a thought-provoking question in class about the changes in the architectural industry—many of which we aren't fully aware of. Because I usually shy away from raising my hand and asking about it in class, I’d love to start my first conversation here about this. What’s changing or happening in the architectural world? Whether it’s a project you're involved in, something you’ve read, learned, or an ongoing discussion, I’d love to hear your insights! 💬👇 #design #interiordesign #architecturelovers #architecturedesign #archilovers #architects #architecturestudent

You might be interested in my new colour design for architecture website. It pulls together the design and research led collaborations I have been doing alongside academic writing and teaching on colour. https://lnkd.in/eV9F8UeQ Do get in touch with me either through the University of Edinburgh / ESALA, or via the contact email on the website footer if you have a project you would like to discuss.

Pursue dreams while letting go of expectations and living in the present moment. I find resonance with this philosophy. Doing your own "developmental editing" before seeking professional help ? Combine the drive to pursue one's dreams with the flexibility to adapt and grow throughout the creative process.
The dreams I set aside… Truth be told, I am lucky. I don’t have many dreams I set aside. I had wondered how it would have been to … … direct a play. … be an architect. … work in a bookshop. … stay in Spain after my master. I am lucky. I can still do most of these things. Not sure about that architecture dream though … It might need to be limited to things like Chicago architecture tour guides 😂 Can you still make happen the dreams you set aside? Thank you Anjanette “AJ” Harper for the assignment! 😁 #career #coaching
