The Joy of Seeing a Dog Return for a Holiday One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is the joy of seeing a dog I’ve trained come back for a refresher session or a short stay with us. Watching them recognize me is priceless — there’s an initial sniff, followed by the moment of realization, and then pure happiness: tail wagging, excited yips, and a full-on zoom around! What stands out to me is the sense of maturity many of these dogs display after spending time with their families. Their home routines, love, and care seem to nurture their confidence. Returning to us feels like a happy reunion, giving them the chance to reconnect with doggy friends, our team, and the behaviors we’ve worked on together. It’s a wonderful opportunity for them to refine their skills, and it’s amazing to see how they thrive when given structure and attention. For me, moments like these are a gentle reminder to appreciate the simple joys of what we do. Running a business can sometimes shift focus away from these special moments, but I’m learning to treasure them more often — they truly make it all worthwhile. #dogtraining #thoughts #smallthings #chaperonek9

Finding Joy in Simple Summer Adventures ☀ Yesterday, Ed took on a new BMX pump track, and it reminded me how powerful simple, affordable moments can be, especially during the summer holidays. There's nothing quite like seeing your child light up with excitement, mastering new skills, and having fun without expensive outings 😊 This year, since starting my new business, we haven’t had as much money as before. But we’ve still had some great adventures together. 🎬 We went to the cinema on a Sunday morning to watch The Garfield Movie - just £7 for both of us! We’ve been to the beach 🏖️, the park 🌳, skate parks 🛹, and now a new pump track 🚴♂️. Best of all, we’ve chilled, relaxed, and recharged 😌 As a parent and a financial expert, I’m always searching for budget-friendly ways to create memorable experiences and practicing what I preach. The pump track was a great example - completely free, yet filled with joy and adventure. The best part? Night owls, on the other hand, thrive in the late hours, often producing their best work when others have called it a day.
