Every gift you make goes directly to programs that are transforming the lives of animals and their humans. Our Foster and Adoption program is a beacon of hope for the most at-risk animals in our partner shelters, while our preventative programs—like PASS, Dogs Matter, and Bark Dorm—work tirelessly to keep pets out of shelters and in loving homes. These initiatives are not just about rescue; they're about building healthier, stronger communities where animals and people thrive together. The need is urgent. Many of the pets that come into our care have medical conditions so severe that shelters simply can't provide the care they need. Over a third of the animals we help are Major Medical Cases, requiring $1,000 or more in medical expenses. In 2023 alone, we spent more than $400,000 on treatments ranging from basic vaccinations to heartworm treatment and life-saving surgeries. This year, as we've taken on the incredible work of Dogs Matter and face the overwhelming overcrowding in North Texas shelters, the number of animals in our care has more than doubled. For the first time, we have more than 500 animals relying on our programs. While we've made strides in fundraising, the financial demands have outpaced our resources.

Project teams who understand the "why" behind their collective efforts are likelier to operate with passion, confidence and cohesion. If you can, take your project team to meet the people or experience what they seek to impact during the planning stages. Stand with your team on the ground you’re about to dig, or engage in conversation over lunch with the people you’re developing that social program for. Inspire and encourage them to envision what could be beyond the confines of a Zoom meeting and a Comprehensive Project Management Plan. At Wellspring, we take staff and donors to Rwanda on "Vision Trips" every October to experience the work they support firsthand. I actually went on one myself in 2021. The result? ✅ Donors and staff have a deeper engagement with the work.  ✅ Emotional connections and intrinsic motivators are activated.  ✅ There's a face and a story behind each name in your inbox.  ✅ Relationships with stakeholders and beneficiaries of your efforts are developed, enhancing your employees' happiness and quality of life.  ✅ Higher outcomes on your deliverables.  ✅ Project plans come to life! I am talking about supporting one of the amazing Foster Care Organizations in Georgia by making a donation through the Fostering Success Act Tax Credit. As long as you are a Georgia taxpayer, you can be approved (it just takes a few minutes) and make a donation then get 100% of the money back when you file your taxes in 2025. Below is a link to the Goshen Valley website (the Foster Care Organization I support) which has an easy to follow, step-by-step instructions on how to take advantage of this. When you go to the State of Georgia website you will see the other 38 approved FCO's if you want to find one in your area. These organizations depend on our support - and the donations from the tax credit are a GAME CHANGER for them!
