Love this first episode of #Purposing season 3 where Becky Willan talks to Mitch Oliver, Global VP of Brand and Purpose at Mars, about the power of purpose marketing (done well). My main takeaway: extracting your purpose from the actions your business is already taking, and making the implicit explicit, is the best way to arrive at a purpose platform that is credible and authentic. Take a listen here ➡ https://lnkd.in/ey7H-HY9
Today we launch season 3 of #Purposing, the podcast that lifts the lid on how to run a successful purpose-driven business. In a year that’s been more challenging than ever for many organisations, we’re speaking to amazing guests who share why having a well-executed purpose can drive business performance, even in this tough economic climate. In episode one, I'm joined by the absolutely brilliant Michele (Mitch) Oliver, Global VP of Brand and Purpose at #MarsInc, to explore how to translate a business’s purpose into meaningful and measurable brand impact - across different markets, categories and products. "Purpose" has become so much of a buzzword in recent years. I've heard and seen it all... ❎ "We should be more purposeful" a CEO says whilst donating to a charity which has no relevance to the business, then never doing anything related to the cause ever again. ❎ "Let's give it a sense of purpose" says the person linking an ad to a cause your organisation and product has nothing to do with, or no connection to. ❎ Fluffy purpose slogans that have absolutely nothing to do with how a business operates or what it offers stakeholders. ❎ Swapping the word sustainability with purpose and thinking they're the same thing. ❎ People thinking purpose has nothing to do with business growth - and if it has you're "not purposeful enough". 🎯 That's why I was so thrilled to join Given - a company who truly understands what purpose is and isn't. We see purpose not as a marketing slogan, or just a way to do social impact - it's a "management approach that profitably solves issues related to people and planet". 🎯 🎧 Listen to our CEO, Becky Willan's podcast, Purposing, to find out more about what being a purpose-driven business really means. 🎧 🍫 Episode 1 stars the inspiring Mitch Oliver, Global VP of Brand and Purpose at Mars. Enjoy 🍫

Having the tables turned was quite an experience! Usually, I'm the one asking the questions, but this time, I had the pleasure of being in the hot seat on the 'Focus on WHY Podcast' with Amy Rowlinson. 🔥 Our conversation is about just one question: “Why?” This powerful line of inquiry has been vital in shaping the impact of Leader&Team. 🚀 Leader&Team | Certified B Corp™ enables founders and CEOs of scale-up companies to create a real team to drive their business, and then shift that real team into high performance then, critically, high transformation. This is important because when a high transformation team leads a scale-up company, it significantly multiplies its impact on three things: 1️⃣ Growth of the business 2️⃣ Value created for customers (i.e. the purpose of the business) 3️⃣ Opportunities generated in the community by a growing enterprise My discussion with Amy was rich and insightful, just as I expected it to be. Thank you, Amy, for guiding the conversation so brilliantly, I learned plenty! 🌟 #CEOlife #GrowthMindset #ScaleUp #HighPerformance #HighTransformation #BCorp #ListenNow
