As April comes to a close, placements are estimated to be down ~10% below year ago levels. Over the last 9 months, placements are off 300k head. This trend of lower placements is expected to continue through the end of 2024.

The Lazard New Visions Academy, a partnership with New Visions for Public Schools, is a signature initiative of the Lazard Foundation that provides New York City public high school students the opportunity to gain vital knowledge, experience and relationships to set them on a path toward future professional career. Throughout the five-week summer program, Lazard colleagues across our Financial Advisory and Asset Management businesses volunteered their time and expertise. They engaged in career panels, development sessions, resume workshops, mock interviews, networking activities, and supported students in completing their final capstone projects. Hear directly from our volunteers about how this rewarding experience has not only impacted the students but also enriched their own lives and professional development.

Completed my first webinar with Young Professionals in Year 12 (2023) and was instantly eager for more insight into the options regarding career paths for new graduates and apprentices.

Under the aegis of Centre for Professional Enhancement, Club “Optimyzr for Success” is going to conduct “TechSpectrum: An Alumni Interaction Session”. This session aims to bridge the gap between students and industry professionals, providing valuable insights and guidance to navigate the challenges of placement preparation and career progression. Students will get an opportunity to facilitate meaningful interactions with seasoned professionals currently working in the IT sector. Through this session, students can engage in discussions, seek guidance, and gain valuable advice from alumni who have firsthand experience in the industry.   The main objectives of event are:   ·      To provide a platform for students to interact with alumni and seek guidance on placement preparation. ·      To offer valuable insights into the current trends and requirements of the IT sector. ·      To equip students with practical advices and strategies to scale up their professional growth ·      To foster mentorship and networking opportunities between students and alumni.

On November 15, I had the opportunity to attend the J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. Early Insights Summit, an event designed to provide students and aspiring professionals with a deeper understanding of the financial services industry and the firm’s unique culture. During the summit, I was introduced to J.P. Morgan Chase’s various divisions, including investment banking, asset management, and technology, through engaging sessions led by experienced professionals. These discussions not only offered insights into the firm’s operations but also highlighted how innovation and collaboration drive success in a competitive industry. One of the standout aspects of the event was the emphasis on professional development. Through skill-building workshops and interactive exercises, I gained practical advice on refining my resume, preparing for interviews, and positioning myself as a strong candidate for future roles. The group challenges and case studies provided a hands-on opportunity to tackle real-world business problems while showcasing the importance of teamwork and critical thinking. Additionally, the summit underscored J.P. Morgan’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. Hearing from professionals of varying backgrounds was inspiring and reinforced the value the firm places on embracing different perspectives. Overall, the Early Insights Summit was an invaluable experience that deepened my understanding of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and the broader financial services landscape. It also reaffirmed my interest in pursuing opportunities within the firm. I left the event feeling motivated, equipped with new skills, and more confident about the next steps in my career journey.
