#True_Story The American company General Motors received a strange message from one of its customers, stating that his car had a severe sensitivity to one specific type of ice cream – vanilla flavor. In his message, he explained that he was well aware it sounded crazy and wouldn't blame them if they didn't believe him, but it was the truth, and it was happening to him. Every day after work, he would go to buy ice cream, and if he bought any flavor other than vanilla, the car would run fine. However, if it was vanilla ice cream, the car’s engine wouldn’t start. The company didn't ignore the message and sent an engineer to examine the customer's complaint. The engineer was astonished when he discovered that the man’s claim was indeed true. He drove the car himself and went alone to buy ice cream, experiencing the same result: with vanilla ice cream, the car wouldn’t start, but with any other flavor, there were no issues. The engineer noticed that buying vanilla ice cream (which is readily available due to high demand and comes pre-packaged) didn’t take much time, whereas buying any other flavor took longer. So, the logical question the engineer asked was: why does the engine fail to start after a short period (vanilla) but runs normally after a longer stop (other flavors)? The company conducted extensive research and discovered a phenomenon that occurs with gasoline called "vapor lock," in which some of the gasoline turns from liquid to gas, preventing fuel from flowing into the engine. When the engine is left to cool for a longer period, this phenomenon ceases. "Your perspective on events changes when you have the knowledge to analyze matters and reach solutions that improve yourself. Ignorance, on the other hand, only leads to superstition."

Poor packaging leads people to believe the product is junk, too—something they may not want to associate with. I’ve been trying to earn the truck cleaning chemicals business for a Ready Mix Fleet based in Atlanta. My history extends over 40 years of blending all types of cleaning solutions for my family business. Every customer is treated fairly with quality products and aggressive pricing. It’s my objective to supply each site with quality products for maximum cleaning results. I have loyal customers that have been with me since the early 80’s. They know they can depend on me. This particular Ready Mix Company has 30 plants that need the products I manufacture. The Ready Mix Trucks use 2 different products. One for cab wash and one for the mixer wash. I met with the two managers that are authorized to buy the products. I provided them with laminated SDS sheets and laminated product labels. They requested a quote at our meeting on Friday. I sent the quote on Sunday so the quote could be read by email on Monday morning. I followed up with them via text and cell phone call. I was told my quote was very close to what they were already buying. And they will stay with their current vendor. So, I re bid the quote. I subtracted $100,000 off the quote. Yes, $100,000. THE GUYS TOLD ME THEY WERE NOT INTERESTED! I’ve tried and tried to understand their position. There is no obvious, common sense reason. The $100,000 annual savings is not a one time savings, it’s an ongoing savings. I’ve asked these guys to help me understand their position. Their response is:“DO NOT CONTACT ME AGAIN. NO TEXTS. NO EMAILS. NO PHONE CALLS. DO NOT CONTACT ANY OF OUR TEAM MEMBERS. DO NOT GO TO ANY OF OUR PLANTS”. The only thing I’ve done was offer a savings of $100,000 annually. I’m at a crossroads. What do I do under these circumstances?

In 1999, I began my career as a service executive, specializing in repairing the lyophilizers of Heto-Holten, a top-tier brand, and learning Refrigeration (cascade type) on the field. Fast forward to today, where one of our customer called upon our TechSupport team for support. We collaborated with our customer friend to reinstall and validate the equipment, I got chance to get hands-on with the machine, almost after 20 years I took tools in hand and opened the system. Surprised to see Nothing changed!! Our service-first approach has been pivotal in propelling our team's growth and visibility within the laboratory instrument supplier marketplace. A big thank you to our customer friends for their ongoing support and partnership!

Hopefully really soon the Australian government will enact new-vehicle emissions legislation that significantly penalises high-CO2-emitting vehicles like diesel utes and SUVs. It's about time... most people buying dual cab utes are driving these in the city without a load & bought in the past few years because of instant tax write-off incentives
